Cuthbert on X-Scape, possibility of creating another Star Fox
Posted on 15 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in DS, General Nintendo, News | 4 Comments
First, Q-Games’ Dylan Cuthbert discussed X-Scape…
“X was a very special game for me. It was the first game I made for Nintendo. Star Fox is very much a Miyamoto group game. X’s themes are a little more adult, a little more science fiction based. It’s a bit of a self challenge, to go back to something you made 20 years ago and going through all the old ideas and trying to remake them with the experience I have now. As a challenge that was more fun for us than doing another Star Fox. It let’s us explore more themes because it’s not a major franchise title.”
Mr. Cuthbert was also asked about the possibility of creating another Star Fox title…
“We’re willing to do any game for Nintendo. It’s up to them.”
X-Scape looks like a really neat game. I’ve actually been looking forward to the title quite a bit since I saw the first trailer. And about Star Fox…I’ve said it before and I’ve said it again – I’d love to see it happen. Now we just need Nintendo to ask Mr. Cuthbert if he’ll do it for them!

Capcom’s latest financial results (Darkside Chronicles underperformed, healthy growth for Monster Hunter Tri)
Posted on 15 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in DS, News, Wii | 2 Comments
Capcom Co., Ltd. would like to announce that net sales decreased to 66,837 million yen (down 27.3 % from the previous year). As for profits, operating income decreased to 5,587 million yen (down 61.8 % from the previous year), and ordinary income decreased to 5,530 million yen (down 59.9 % from the previous year). Net profit for the current period decreased to 2,167 million yen (down 73.1 % from the previous year).
In flagship Home Video Games business, “Monster Hunter Tri” (for Wii) and “Monster Hunter Freedom Unite” (for PlayStation Portable) continued to grow in Japan. And existing products such as “Resident Evil 5? (for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360) and “Street Fighter IV” (for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360) which were released late in the previous year achieved healthy growth in the overseas markets. However, weak sales of some new titles besides the releases of “Lost Planet 2? (for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360), “Super Street Fighter IV” and “Monster Hunter Tri” for overseas were postponed to the next fiscal year significantly depressed sales compared to previous year.
Nintendo of America not ready to discuss Wii Party

“We’re not making any further announcements other than what NCL announced in Japan.” – Nintendo statement
You can bet your bottom dollar that this title will make its way to North America. It seems fairly obvious though that Nintendo will be featuring Wii Party at E3. It’ll probably receive treatment similar to Wii Sports Resort, when the company dedicated a block of time during their conference to focus on the title.
