Nintendo Switch Online adds Donkey Kong Bananza icons

July 16: It’s that time once again: a new Nintendo release comes with the latest set of icons on Switch Online, this time for Donkey Kong Bananza.
The first set is now available, lasting until July 23. Nintendo Switch Online members can spend their Platinum Points on various icons on a weekly basis. New icons will go up every Wednesday (Thursday for those in Europe) until August 13 at 6 PM PT / 9 PM ET.

First look at Apex Legends on Nintendo Switch 2, mouse controls supported

Apex Legends was only just announced for Nintendo Switch 2 last week, but it came out yesterday. We now have a first look with a bunch of footage.
Compared to the experience on Nintendo’s previous console, Apex Legends looks to be significantly improved on Switch 2 from a technical standpoint – which is to be expected. Other outlets should be taking a more in-depth look, but it runs at higher resolution with smoother performance.
Otherwise we have confirmation that mouse controls are supported with the Joy-Con 2. Gyro is included as well if you prefer that.

Super Mario Party Jamboree 2.1.1 update out now, patch notes

Heads up for Super Mario Party Jamboree players: a new version 2.1.1 update just went live. The patch can be downloaded on both Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch.
The update addresses a single issue. Last week, due to some sort of glitch, Nintendo temporarily disabled uploading new records to the online leaderboards. Thankfully, after just under a week, that has now been addressed.

Square Enix has spoken about why it wanted to make its first HD-2D action RPG with The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales.
The company kicked off the Nintendo Switch generation with Octopath Traveler, which is largely a traditional RPG. We started to see Square Enix explore other genres for HD-2D with Triangle Strategy, but the action RPG space is a new venture.
Kirby and the Forgotten Land trailer reveals Gear Mouth, Sign Mouth for Nintendo Switch 2

Gear Mouth and Sign Mouth have been officially revealed as new Mouthful Modes for the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition of Kirby and the Forgotten Land following a recent leak. A video was just posted with a first look.
Spring Mouth was previously showcased. By using it, players can bounce around and high jump to reach lofty platforms. They can also smash down to squash enemies or break objects and surfaces.
Nintendo announces August 2025 Indie World Showcase

A new August 2025 Indie World Showcase is set to air later this week, Nintendo has announced. The presentation goes live this Thursday at 6 AM PT / 9 AM ET / 2 PM in the UK / 3 PM in Europe.
Indie World will cover upcoming titles planned for both Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch. The event should be about 15 minutes long.

Deltarune 1.04 update out now, patch notes

The next update for Deltarune has been released in the form of version 1.04. Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch players should be able to access it now.
This is mainly a bug fix patch – including two specific items addressed in the Nintendo Switch 2 version – but there are some adjustments as well. We’re also hearing that version 1.05 is planned, but it “only contains minor changes” and that could be the final one.

Apex Legends details Nintendo Switch 2 frame rate, resolution

Apex Legends was just announced for Nintendo Switch 2 a few days ago, and now we have details on the technical front with information about frame rate and resolution.
Regarding frame rate, EA says players can experience action “up to 60 FPS, depending on monitor/hardware capability and compatibility”. Resolution is 1920×1080 docked and 1792×1008 in handheld mode.
