Genki Attack Vector Grip

The Nintendo Switch (and Nintendo Switch 2) are the most versatile consoles Nintendo has ever released. You can play them docked with any kind of controller you want, or you can opt to play the console in handheld mode to have it with you wherever you go. For me personally, I play just about exclusively in handheld mode – you can sit wherever you want with it, plus being nearsighted makes focusing on a TV kind of difficult after a while. With that in mind, though, holding the Switch 2 by itself for extended periods of time isn’t great – your hands cramp up after a while, which means you really need a grip to make those long gaming sessions easier.

That’s where Genki’s new Attack Vector grip comes in. It promises three swappable styles, an easy fit into the Switch 2 dock, and the ability to detach the Joy-Con controllers even with the grips equipped. Unfortunately, the Attack Vector winds up being more of a liability than an asset – so much so that I went back to using no grip instead of this one.

Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment Switch 1 development

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment was originally planned as a game for the original Nintendo Switch. Yosuke Hayashi, studio head of AAA Studio (Koei Tecmo), revealed that information in a new interview.

Hayashi said that plans for the project shifted midway through the development. He didn’t say what the turning point was, but ultimately Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment is now a Nintendo Switch 2 game. Hayashi feels that the move only made the game “more fun” and there were improvements to the amount of enemies on screen as well as the frame rate.

May 20: With rising concerns about the increasing cost of video games, some players are wondering if future titles will start launching at $80, a price point that’s becoming more common in the current generation. In light of this, Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford shared some thoughts on the topic via X (formerly Twitter), especially in relation to Borderlands 4, which has been confirmed for Nintendo Switch 2.

When asked by a fan whether Borderlands 4 would be priced at $80, Pitchford responded by saying, “If you’re a real fan, you’ll find a way to make it happen.” He added that the final price point is ultimately not his decision, and that it’s likely up to publisher Take-Two Interactive.

1080p Nintendo Switch games Switch 2

A new list is available outlining Nintendo Switch games that automatically run at 1080p on Switch 2 in handheld mode.

With the previous system, titles would always try to hit the native 720p resolution for portable play when possible. When you run them on Nintendo Switch 2, that’s usually the resolution you’ll get. However, a few actually go beyond the limit, and will run at 1080p automatically – in other words, you don’t need to download any patches.

Mario Kart World Totaka's Song

Totaka’s Song, which has been an Easter egg in Nintendo games going back decades, has been found in Mario Kart World.

The Easter egg originally snuck in by Nintendo sound designer Kazumi Totaka. The melody first appeared in the Game Boy game melody way back in 1990, but has since appeared in more recent titles like Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer (plus other entries in the series) and Mario Kart 8. Now it’s here in Mario Kart World as well.
