Yacht Club Games’ ‘Shovel Knight’ could make its way to 3DS/Wii U with Kickstarter support

Looks like MegaMan… Smells like MegaMan… But it’s not MegaMan.
We have heard an almost obscene amount of Kickstarter gaming projects announce their support for Wii U if certain funding goals are met, but today we’ve got one for you from a developer that has recently been in the news:
Yacht Club Games was formed just recently by former members of the studio behind Mighty Switch Force!, WayForward Studios. Their first game will be called Shovel Knight, and it focuses on sidescrolling action, helmed by a knight who wields a “ShovelBlade” to destroy enemies. Sounds pretty decent, right? After all, we know these folks can make a mean platformer.
Initial news was that the game would be for PC only, but the game’s Kickstarter page says that if they hit their fundraising goal of $75,000, the game will make its way to 3DS and Wii U as well. Additionally, you can pledge $15 right now to “reserve” yourself a copy of the game on 3DS or Wii U when it comes out this coming September, so it’s almost like you’re just buying the game in advance!

To celebrate the Year of Luigi, Nintendo has launched a trio of new communities on Miiverse. Wii U owners can partake in discussions through the official Year of Luigi community and Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon board – the first 3DS title to receive its own community. There’s also a community up for the Year of Luigi developer’s room.
Shigeru Miyamoto, Takashi Tezuka, and Yoshihito Ikebata all left messages on Miiverse. Below are Miyamoto’s remarks:
“It’s been a whole 30 years since Luigi’s debut in Mario Bros.! Thanks to Luigi’s fans within Nintendo and all over the world, we have created many games starring Luigi. I hereby declare 2013 to be the Year of Luigi!”

Posted on 11 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Podcast Stories, Wii U | 0 comments
Capcom has revealed new details about the console version of Resident Evil: Revelations.
The company has first confirmed that Rachel will be playable in Raid Mode. Those attending PAX East will be able to take on the role of the character as well as Hulk at PAX East this week.
Also introduced are two new enemies: the Wall Blister along with “a surprise new creature that appears in Raid Mode once players have reached a certain level.”
On Wii U, gamers can access the game’s map and weapons directly on the GamePad while playing with a television. Users can also choose to play off-TV or with a Wii U Pro Controller.
And last but not least, Capcom has outlined how it plans to take advantage of Wii U’s Miiverse features:
“Wii U players will get further exclusives through the Miiverse feature. Players can post a dying message from the Game Over screen for other players around the world to see and you can taunt your friends with the ‘Creatures Voice’ function, allowing enemies in Raid Mode to have their thoughts personalised.”
