New Mii Fighter costumes were added to Super Smash Bros. for Wii U/3DS as part of today’s new DLC. Check out the official trailer for the outfits below.

A brand new update is now up for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U/3DS following its maintenance, and with it comes a new batch of DLC.

We’ve known for a while now that the brand new Super Mario Maker stage would be making its way to Super Smash Bros. as downloadable content, but also included in today’s update is a stage making its return from Super Smash Bros. Brawl – the Pirate Ship stage.

Along with the brand new Pirate Ship stage – which is available as DLC exclusively on Wii U – the Duck Hunt stage from the Wii U version of Super Smash Bros. is now making its way over to the 3DS version.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a proper update without more Mii Fighter costumes. Included in the brand new update and DLC are seven brand new Mii Fighter costumes, which are:

  • Business Suit
  • Fox Set (StarFox) (Gunner)
  • Captain Falcon’s Outfit (Brawler)
  • Toad (Brawler)
  • Viridi Set – Kid Icarus (Sword Fighter)
  • Hunter Set – Monster Hunter (Sword Fighter)

As usual with the Mii Fighter costumes, you can buy them individually or as a bundle for a discounted price.

Here’s the breakdown:

Super Mario Maker stage

3DS – $2.49
Wii U – $2.49
3DS/Wii U – $3.49

Pirate Ship stage

Wii U – $1.99

Mii Fighters

3DS – $0.75
Wii U – $0.75
3DS/Wii U – $1.15

Be sure to download the new update if it isn’t done automatically when you boot up the game to gain access to all of today’s new content.

Devil’s Third has added a new Ignition mode in multiplayer, footage of which is below.

In Ignition mode, there are two teams: attack and defense. Those on the attacking side need to place and detonate a bomb while the defending group naturally must prevent it from going off. The team with the most round wins will take the overall match.

Just a few moments ago, Nintendo shared a North American release date for Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash via its Twitter account. The sports game is set to arrive on November 20.

Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash is also due out in Europe on November 20. The PAL release date was revealed during Gamescom 2015 in August.

During EGX 2015 over the weekend, Xenoblade Chronicles X was featured for a brief demonstration. Nintendo UK has now published the video – see it below.

The Xenoblade Chronicles X Special Edition can now be ordered on Best Buy. Get yours here. Best Buy seems to be charging for shipping, but I imagine that’ll be corrected before release.

A few hours ago, Comcept uploaded a new Mighty No. 9 video. This one has lead composer Manami Matsumae trying out the Challenge Mode. We have it below.

EDGE recent put out a special issue featuring the 100 great video games of all time. The list is below, though the full magazine can be ordered here.

This is how EDGE says it determined its list:

“In compiling the list, we worked to simple criteria: all formats – console, PC, portable, coin-op, touchscreen – were eligible; we could include only a single entry from any series that features straight-up sequels; and each game had to stand up today rather than making the cut for reasons of nostalgia or historic significance.”

And here’s the full lineup:

99 – Spec Ops: The Line
98 – Papers, Please
97 – DriveClub
96 – Braid
95 – Super Hexagon

More:

This week’s issue of Famitsu shares more on Genei Ibun Roku #FE. Along with two brand new characters, we have news about three new Mirages.

Below is information about the latest characters, courtesy of Gematsu:

– Mamori Minamoto (voiced by Kaori Fukuhara) – A talent and Mirage Master that belongs to the same public entertainment office as the protagonists. She’s an elementary school student that likes Showa era songs and clothing.

– Barry Goodman (voiced by Yuichi Nakamura) – A once popular musician who’s come to Japan in search of otaku culture. Following his retirement, he works with the protagonists as a trainer.

Finally, Famitsu confirms that Tharja, Virion, and Draug will be included in Genei Ibun Roku #FE as Mirage characters. The first two are from Fire Emblem: Awakening while the latter debuted in the very first game. Tharja is Kiria Kurono’s Mirage while Virion belongs to Eleonora Yumizuru and Draug is Mamori Minamoto’s Mirage.
