‘Back to the Future: The Game’ Tabbed as Inaugural Game for Platform

SAN RAFAEL , CA. – August 24 2011– Telltale Games, the leading independent digital publisher and developer of episodic interactive entertainment, today announced it has signed an agreement to publish video games for the Wii™ home console from Nintendo. The company also announced that its best-selling game, Back to the Future: The Game, which has achieved more than one million downloaded episodes on PC, will be the first title under this agreement to be published in North America at retail this October for $19.99.

“Securing a publishing agreement with Nintendo of America ensures that we can make our popular content available on every major console platform. This signing is a significant milestone in our long-term growth strategy, “said Telltale co-founder and CEO, Dan Connors. Kirby™ and his friends are back in an adventure designed to satisfy longtime Kirby fans and beginners alike. When an alien spaceship crashes in the otherwise peaceful realm of Planet Pop Star, its pieces are scattered throughout the land. Players must guide Kirby as he retrieves the ship’s parts and helps an alien return to its home planet. This time, however, he’s not alone. At any time, up to three more players can join in the fun and play as Meta Knight, King Dedede, Waddle Dee or a different color Kirby.

A few pre-TGS rumors have surfaced, but they have a bit of extra credibility compared to the average speculation. Why? Well, although the rumors are a few months old, some of them have actually been proven accurate already.

For instance, Rhythm Thnief R: Emperor Napoleon’s Legacy was just confirmed in Famitsu today, but the rumor originated back in July.

Here’s the rumor checklist as it stands now:

[ ] 4 Warriors of Light 2, 3DS
[ ] Monster Hunter Tri G, 3DS
[ ] Miku Hatsune, 3DS
[x] Sega has a Layton-like game but with rhythm action instead of puzzles, to be announced at TGS.
[ ] DQ10 is being designed as an MMO-like game.

We’ve posted the Nintendo-related rumors in this post, but if you’d like to see the full list, head on over to this link.
