– Starts off with Bond arriving in Severnaya
– This is before the GoldenEye satellite wreaks havoc
– Frigate level shows up in Dubai instead of Monaco
– New level set in Valentin Zukovsky’s nightclub
– The nighclub “hipper” than the one in the original game
– Zukovsky not used for comic relief this time around
– He’s a hard-edged mobster
– Use the Subdue command to take out enemies quietly
– Bond can choke an enemy, damaging their back, smash an enemy’s head into a rock
– Can also take out enemies with firearms equipped with silencers
– Make sure no one sees you
– Reinforcements can be called in by the enemy
– In one instance, a helicopter comes in and the backup forces rapelled from the aircraft
– Another example: Backup coming by driving a snowmobile
– Multiple routes in most levels
– Stages parted into sub-areas
– Blowing your cover in one area won’t carry over to the next mission

Donkey Kong Country Returns

– Craig played the latest build
– Saw another 6 levels
– Took him about 15 minutes
– There is a map screen
– You’re on an island
– Rotate the island to go from level to level
– Clustered into different worlds
– Map is more 3D than it was in Donkey Kong Country
– Very easy to pick up and play
– Donkey Kong can climb walls, ceiling
– Needs to be grass texture
– Jumping is pretty forgiving
– Mario-esque mechanic: If you jump on three in a row, a coin will be dropped
– Spend coins on unlockables
– No talking in the game as far as Craig can tell
– There are sharks, jellyfish
– Rambi is in the game
– There is an enemy that is an ostritch and it is on stiltz
– Craig thought the silhouette was really cool
– In the background of that level, when the rock structures come together to form a banana, and it unlocks a secret if you wait a bit
– Similiar secret unlocked when the sun is setting
– Mine cart level in the demo
– In this particular level, when you jump, the cart jumps with you
– Jump with a button, not motion controls
– Cart is following a set path
– Traditional platforming
– Clever visual tricks
– Craig didn’t see any story moments

When Epic Mickey was first announced, there seemed to be no doubts that the game would be a Wii-exclusive. Over there past few months, though, the door sounds like it’s been opened slightly. You have to wonder if, in a year from now, we’ll have heard an announcement that Epic Mickey is heading to the PlayStation 3/Xbox 360.

Kirby’s Epic Yarn details

– First world is Grass Land
– Much water in Grass Land, but not in the second world
– Second world is Hot Land
– In Hot Land, Kirby needs to go through the level which is filled with sand, lava, and dinosaurs
– Location-specific vehicles
– In the Pyramid Sands level, Kirby becomes an off-road vehicle
– Hold 1 to accelerate, 2 to jump
– Try to grab collectibles by jumping
– Collectibles include beeds and a speed boost power up
– Dune-buggy-esque baddies
– Can jump on the winners’ podium stage at the end of the off-roading sections to get beads

– Donkey Kong can climb grassy textured surfaces
– Do this by holding B on the Wiimote
– DK can go vertical, climb across rock surfaces like monkey bars
– Sunset Shores level demoed
– This level features the “silhouette” visual effect seen in the E3 trailer
– Hidden goodies in the level, discover them by paying attention to the background
– Sunset Shores has staggered rock formations moving in perspective, at one point they converge to make a giant banana, if you notice it and stop you’ll receive banana coins
– Use banana coins on extras outside of the level
– Can also get coins when there is a sunset with a foreground cavern
– Another level: Stormy Shore
– Need to leap across platforms in the ocean, waves moving about
– Crazy Cart mine cart level
– Jumping will pull the cart up with you
– Cart can leap off its rails and skid along dirt paths before going back on track
– Somewhat of a dynamic camera in this level, DK cart will roll close to the camera for a tight shot (makes thing more challenging since your viewpoint isn’t as large)
– Another level: Button Bash
– This level has a big network of barrels to blast out of
– Need to time some barrel blasts to hit big button switches that affects the level
– At the end you’ll blast into the mouth of a gigantic monkey totem poll in the distance
– Need to time this blast when his mouth is open
– Another level: Damp Dungeon
– Need to navigate platforms rotating on giant water-powered mills
– Raise platforms by using DK’s blowing ability
– Push down on the analog stick and shake the Wiimote to accomplish this
– Blow to power the windmill which will bring a platform up
– Another level: Temple Topple
– Hop on the back of Rambi and rampage through the level
– Rambi can go through practically anything
– He can smash through walls, romp over spikes that would bring down DK if he got too close
– Only fire can hurt Rambi
– Fire hoops all over the level
– Leap through the fire hoops
– Bonus bananas, KONG letters, puzzle pieces, 1-up red balloons in the fire hoops
– 3D island for the game’s overworld
– Players can explore the overworld
– Each segment on the island is an open world with its own collection of levels
– Most paths from one level to the other were open in the demo
– There was one locked path that has a chain and padlock over the road
– Most likely secrets to unlock paths between levels
– Music similar to the SNES game
– Has an updated, upbeat jazzy flair
– Aquatic Ambiance not in the latest demo, but it could still be in the game
