Rumor: The Conduit to release in April in Europe
Posted on 15 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Rumors, Wii | 0 comments
Now…I’m having a bit of a tough time believing this speculation. Nonetheless, the rumor is that The Conduit will release on April 24 in Europe. There doesn’t seem to be any real base to this, especially when this would mean that the game would be out in about a month. If anything, I would think that The Conduit would release in North America first, and then Europe. SEGA has not confirmed or denied anything at this point, but again, I don’t think this is too likely.
Rumor: Link, Kid Icarus, and Ice Climbers to appear at GDC 2009
Posted on 15 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, Rumors | 18 Comments
The latest buzz surrounding GDC 2009 is that three (four, technically) Nintendo characters will be at this year’s conference this year. The rumor specifically involves Link, Kid Icarus, and the Ice Climbers. Games wouldn’t necessarily be shown – hints to future projects, listing of the characters, or possibly more would be shared.
I do want to stress that this rumor should be taken with a huge grain of salt. In the past, some rumors have proved to be valid but in this case it’s really unclear. I would expect Nintendo to do something like this at E3, but not really GDC…Who knows. We’ll have to just wait and see. Just remember to have a bit of skepticism in mind and don’t set yourselves up for disappointment!
Thanks to Jake for the news tip.
Rumor: Double USB hard drive in the works for Wii
Posted on 15 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Rumors, Wii | 6 Comments
According to QJ.net, Nintendo is busy developing a “double USB hard drive” for the Wii. This would, supposedly, provide relief for those who have been struggling with the small amount of internal memory available on the system.
The rumors also says that the device would mount on the back on the Wii and is designed to seem like a natural part of the Wii. The hard drive would not be able to be used without a firmware update but all downloaded content from the Wii Shop Channel can apparently be transferred right onto the hard drive.
No date was provided for when all of this would be released. I’m a bit skeptical of this rumor, but I’m sure quite a few people would be satisfied if this is indeed Nintendo’s storage solution.

The latest edition of Famitsu apparently has information on Biohazard: Dark Side Chronicles for Wii. This would be a sequel to the already released Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles. More information will be posted as it becomes available.
Rumor: Nintendo struggling with Wii MotionPlus development
Posted on 15 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Rumors, Wii | 8 Comments
Initially, Nintendo’s Wii MotionPlus was scheduled to launch in Spring, but that no longer seems to be the case. Nintendo has even failed to mention it in some of their latest press releases, which does bring up some suspicion regarding the peripheral’s status. According to IGN’s Matt Casamassina, Nintendo has been having a few issues with Wii MotionPlus.
“When I got wind that the DSi announcement which turned out to be pretty accurate…At the same time I heard that Nintendo was internally struggling with Wii MotionPlus and trying to figure out a few hiccups…And that they were going to delay the release of it all the way past June. And also Wii Sports Resort which would be like an eight game title, it would have eight games in it, not ten, and that would also be delayed a little bit…The only thing I got was vague and was like, ‘Oh, they’re having some hiccups in development.'” – Matt Casamassina, Nintendo Voice Chat podcast 39
Wii MotionPlus may release before June 18
Posted on 15 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Rumors | 6 Comments
Nintendo had stated a few months back that Wii Sports Resort and Wii MotionPlus would be shipping together in Spring 2009. Yet, both products have failed to make any of Nintendo’s recent press releases, and thus the release dates of the two items are completely up the air. However, with some investigating, it looks like MotionPlus could be on the way before June 18.
One of the feature articles in the latest issue of Nintendo Power is about EA’s Grand Slam Tennis. Here’s an official blurb from the magazine, which also discusses MotionPlus.
“Thomas Singleton (EA) and his Vancouver-based team hope to take things to the next level, thanks in no small part to the Wii MotionPlus accessory (due out prior to Grand Slam’s release).”
Now, EA’s website for the game says the game will be out before June 18. This has to mean that MotionPlus will arrive before then, right?!

Rumor: Pictures of North American DSi box surface, announcement on the way
Posted on 15 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in DS, Rumors | 0 comments
A duo of clues may indicate that Nintendo plans on announcing the Nintendo DSi for North America in the coming days. The first pictures of the North American box have been found, which indicate that Nintendo has already provided a few produced units to websites/magazines.
Another clue from IGN says that their weekly podcast has been delayed due to “a rampaging Bowser, a zombie infestation, or an upcoming handheld announcement.”
IGN previously stated that the system would ship in North American on April 1. An upcoming announcement could indeed be for that date.
Rumor: Video of Kid Icarus model animation leaked
Posted on 15 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Rumors, Wii | 1 Comment
Not too long ago, rumored photos of the character model from a new Kid Icarus title were leaked. And now, a short video of the character in motion has apparently been discovered. As with all rumors, it’d be wise to keep a bit of doubt about the latest rumors in mind. Like last week, I’d like to reiterate that this is not 100% confirmed and this design may not have even been used as the final model.
Thanks to Josh for the news tip.
Rumor: The Conduit to have lobby system
Posted on 15 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Rumors, Wii | 2 Comments
More alleged details of The Conduit’s multiplayer functionality have been revealed at this year’s New York Comic Con. Apparently, Eric Nofsinger of High Voltage stated that the game will have a lobby system. Thanks to the lobby system, friends will be able to hook up their Wii Speak accessories and talk with each other. At the same time, gamers can continue to search for a battle with random people, whether it is local or worldwide play.
Nofsinger also said that the game will have 18 weapons and hinted at about ten maps (though he did not confirm this completely).
