Mighty No. 9, Keiji Inafune’s new project seeking funding on Kickstarter, has already hit its target. In less than two full days, the $900,000 goal has been reached.

Mighty No. 9 still has a ways to go before development is guaranteed for consoles. At present, PC is the only confirmed platform. Console versions will be made a reality if $2.5 million is raised.

You can find the official Mighty No. 9 Kickstarter here.

Spot the Differences: Party! is on track for a North American and European release this week. It’ll be available on Thursday for $5 / €5.

The game features 360 high-definition scenes and 3,600 differences to find. Those who are playing alone can experience Spot the Differences: Party! with the GamePad or Wiimote.

The following multiplayer modes are also supported for up to four players:

· In synchronous multiplayer mode, one player plays on the Gamepad while others play with Wii Remotes. They compete on who finds more differences.
· In turn-based multiplayer mode, players play in turn on the gamepad. In the end of each round, they get a synchronous replay on the TV to see who found differences fastest.

You can view Spot the Differences: Party! screenshots above.

Last week, we published an interview with Ripstone Games, which focused on Knytt Underground. This time around, creator Nicklas Nygren from Nifflas Games has shared a few more words about the title. Nygren commented on Knytt Underground’s visual style, open nature, music, and even interest in adding a level editor. Plus, he gave us a new tease regarding Nifflas’ new collaboration project with Spin the Bottle developer KnapNok Games.

Polygon has published a new interview with Keiji Inafune regarding his new Kickstarter project, Mighty No. 9. Inafune had a lot to say about the new game, plus off-beat topics like Twitter.

You can find a good chunk of Inafune’s comments below. There’s even more to find on Polygon.

Mega Man creator Keiji Inafune has just launched a new Kickstarter for “Mighty No. 9” after announcing the project at PAX Prime 2013 just moments ago.

Mighty No. 9 is described as “an all-new Japanese side-scrolling action game that takes the best aspects of the 8- and 16-bit era classics you know and love”. Players take on the role of Beck, “the 9th in a line of powerful robots, and the only one not infected by a mysterious computer virus that has caused mechanized creatures the world over to go berserk.”

Players will be running, jumping, blasting, and transforming in six different stages. More levels may be added depending on stretch goals. You’ll be able to tackle the stages in any order of your choosing. Similar to Mega Man, you can use weapons and abilities taken from enemies.

Mighty No. 9 is currently planned for PC. The Kickstarter page mentions that other platforms such as Wii U “are a high priority,” but will only be made a reality if a $2.5 million stretch goal is met.

Mighty No. 9 is tentatively scheduled for launch in spring 2015. Donations will need to reach $900,000 by October 1 in order to secure funding.

You can find the official Kickstarter page with a ton of additional details here.
