Wii U

You’ve probably heard of Headstrong Games. The studio has worked on Battalion Wars, The House of the Dead: Overkill, Art Academy, Rabbids Rumble, and plenty of other titles.

Headstrong doesn’t have any confirmed games in the works for Wii U, but it is definitely involved with the console. Associate producer Jo Tunstill lists an unannounced project for the console on her LinkedIn profile.

Will it be a Nintendo-published game? The two companies have shared a fairly close relationship in the past. Or is this a third-party effort?

Some of you may have missed this news among the numerous release date confirmations included in Nintendo’s press release today.

Next month, Nintendo will be releasing its own Wii U accessory set. A Wii U GamePad screen protector and extra-large stylus will be included. The product will be available for $12.99 starting on February 4.


Ubisoft has launched two Assassin’s Creed DLC packs for Wii U. Players can now purchase The Hidden Secrets and The Battle Hardened content. The two packs are priced at $4.99 and $9.99 respectively.

Aliens: Colonial Marines has gone gold. Let me clarify that actually – development is finished on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. Now what about the Wii U version?

SEGA is saying that Colonial Marines is on track for the Wii U’s launch window. That ends on March 31, but we still don’t have a final date. Hopefully we’ll receive a final date soon.

EA has finally sent out an official announcement for Need for Speed: Most Wanted Wii U. The publisher confirmed the game’s North American and Europe release date and shared a few details about the new version.

Criterion Games is cramming in a new local co-op mode, titled “Co-Driver”, in which one person handles a Wiimote or Wii U Pro Controller while a second player controls the GamePad “to provide control and navigation assistance on a fully interactive real-time map. Using just their fingertips, a partner can distract pursuing cops, switch from night to day or activate enhanced performance for any car and even control the amount of traffic on the road.”



Nintendo has sent out a new release schedule for North America that reveals numerous release dates for upcoming games on its platforms. The graphic above confirms release dates for LEGO City: Undercover, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon, and more. Nintendo additionally revealed “LEGO City Undercover: The Chase Begins”, a 3DS prequel to the Wii U game, which “follows the exploits of Chase McCain as a rookie cop.”

Also worth mentioning: Game & Wario, The Wonderful 101, Pikmin 3 and Wii Fit U are all scheduled to arrive in the first half of the year.
