Zen Studios praises Nintendo’s support, positive Wii U eShop dev experience

Zen Studios VP of marketing & public relations Mel Kirk is high on the company’s experience in making Zen Pinball 2 for the Wii U eShop.
Kirk praised Nintendo for its support, noting “we really could not have asked for more support from them.” On the whole, the entire experience has been “extremely positive”, and Kirk believes “the doors are wide open for other small studios to bring games to the Wii U.”
Kirk’s comments in full:
“We have experienced the same challenges that are presented on any new platform or device. Nintendo’s support has been excellent, we really could not have asked for more support from them. Overall, it has been an extremely positive experience and I think the doors are wide open for other small studios to bring games to the Wii U. This is an amazing development for Nintendo; huge, positive changes have been made since the days of WiiWare.”

Injustice: Gods Among Us to feature Penguin, Martian Manhunter, DLC?
Posted on 11 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Rumors, Wii U | 0 comments
NetherRealm Studios’ Ed Boon recently posted an image on Twitter that appears to hint at certain content for Injustice: Gods Among Us.
The photo was actually a seemingly random tweet that has nothing to do with the game. But, perhaps unintentionally, it gives a look at Boon’s computer desktop and a few folders. Three folders can be clearly made out: Penguin, Martian Manhunter and DLC.
Downloadable content in Injustice wouldn’t come as a surprise, though that has not been confirmed. Penguin and Martian Manhunter haven’t been announced as playable characters either. Guess we’ll just have to wait and see how this plays out…

Update: More quotes added.
About a week ago, Japanese publication Nikkei published an interview with Satoru Iwata. The Nintendo president had lots to say about Animal Crossing: New Leaf and other titles in the series.
Nikkei is back with another round of quotes from Iwata. Below you’ll find translated comments regarding Wii U sales, the GamePad’s origins, his desire to continue expanding the gaming population, and tons more that couldn’t possibly fit within this post’s title.
Video: Wii U on a SEGA Game Gear

YouTube user “Paul LastLevelTech” was able to successfully connected his Wii U to a SEGA Game Gear. Paul says he took on the project “to show off the handheld LCD differences in technology from the 90’s and now.”
Yes, this is completely random. But hey, it works.

Will LEGO City: Undercover have co-op?
Posted on 11 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U | 0 comments
In a fact sheet sent out during E3 2012, Nintendo listed LEGO City: Undercover as a game that can be experienced by up to two people. Thus far the company hasn’t shared any sort of information regarding multiplayer elements.
Based on Traveler’s Tales’ past work in the LEGO genre, one would expect Undercover to deliver a co-op experience. We’ll have to continue speculating for now though, as both Nintendo and Warner Bros. are keeping quiet about the possibility. When Game Informer asked co-op, the two provided the uninformative comment: “Nothing has been announced.”

Kamiya: Bayonetta 1 eShop release up to SEGA/Nintendo
Posted on 11 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Podcast Stories, Wii U, Wii U eShop | 0 comments
On Twitter, one fan messaged Platinum Games’ Hideki Kamiya regarding an eShop release of the original Bayonetta. Kamiya responded by saying that such a decision would be up to SEGA/Nintendo.
It’s up to Sega or Ninty. RT @linkyshink: PG should consider a technically proficient eShop release of Bayonetta 1 on Wii U.
— ???? Hideki Kamiya (@PG_kamiya) January 11, 2013
Some Nintendo fans may not have had the chance to play the original Bayonetta, so bringing the first title to the eShop could be a smart move.
Thanks to Jake for the tip.
