Broken Rules, the developer behind the upcoming indie Wii U title Chasing Aurora, has kind words for the console’s eShop. Martin Pichlmair told ONM that he thinks “Nintendo is doing everything to make this console much more open, social and indie-friendly than the Wii ever was.”

“I can not talk about the new eShop in detail. What I do know is that Nintendo is doing everything to make this console much more open, social and indie-friendly than the Wii ever was.”

Pichlmair continued:

“There are people at Nintendo who know where innovative games come from. And if you look at the launch lineup you can clearly see that those people have had a say in it. At the same time, the Wii U with its various controller configurations calls for experimental games of all kinds and Nintendo is always eager to have games make good use of its console’s innovations.”

Pwnee Studios has answered a few questions about Cloudberry Kingdom on Wii U. It was reconfirmed that the game may very well be out for the console’s launch, will support online leaderboards, Miiverse, accomplishments (or “whatever else you may want to call them”… maybe more hints of console accomplishments?), and more.

In other non-specific Wii U gameplay news, Pwnee discussed how Nintendo has been supportive of the studio, commented on why it feels like Steam influenced Nintendo, and yes… more!

Rayman Legends is Nintendo Power’s cover story for its latest issue.

The magazine provided a bunch of new details about the game, including an overview of the brand new underwater world. We’ve also received clarification that players will in fact control Rayman and the other heroes throughout most of the single-player campaign, switching to Murfy only during specific sections.

Nintendo will release new eShop cards for the launch of Wii U, according to Walmart. The retailer is listing cards of three different values: $20, $35, and $50.

Consumers will be able to use the items to purchase content from either the Wii U or 3DS eShops, including games and more.

Just in case you had any doubts, Tomorrow Corporation confirmed on its blog that the studio is pushing to release Little Inferno for Wii U in time for the console’s launch. If all goes well, it should be out in mid-November.

Little Inferno will be joined by other stand-out indie titles including Chasing Aurora, Trine 2: Director’s Cut, Toki Tori 2, and Nano Assault Neo (and there are others!).
