Nintendo removed a bunch of Turbografx-16 games from the European Wii Shop Channel early last year. All of these titles have now returned.

R-Type, Vigilante, Ninja Spirit, and Legend of Hero Tonma are available once again for purchase. It’s still unclear why they were taken down in the first place, and why Nintendo decided to put them back up on the Wii’s shop.

Sonic Lost World’s North American release date has been postponed by a week, it would seem. A new trailer put out by SEGA today now shows an October 29th launch for the Wii U and 3DS games.

Sonic Lost World was originally expected to hit US shelves on October 22. It’s still on track to arrive on October 18 in Europe.

Today, Nintendo is celebrating its 124th birthday. The company, established on on September 23, 1889, was quite a bit different back then than it is today.

Initially, Nintendo started out as a hanafuda cards business. Instant rice, love hotels, and taxi services were later added to the mix.

Nintendo began producing video game systems and titles in the 80s. The era brought along the birth of Donkey Kong, Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda, Metroid, and other hit titles.

It’s safe to say that the video game scene wouldn’t be the same without Nintendo. So on that note, happy birthday to the Big N!
