Maestro iGames can officially make Wii U games. The indie dev announced on Twitter today that it has become an approved developer for the console.
Super Ubi Land will be the first Wii U eShop title from Maestro. Currently, the team is targeting its launch for the spring.
We are now approved Wii U Developers ourselves. Expect Super Ubi Land late spring 2013, as well as our own projects later this year!

Neko Entertainment, the studio behind Puddle on the Wii U eShop, may opt to bring future titles to the platform.
QA manager Sébastien Chipot-Delys was recently asked if Puddle’s development on Wii U inspired the team with ideas about the future and whether Neko has any additional projects planned for the console. This was the response:
“Yes, we learned a lot by developing Puddle on Wii U, and it will be definitely helpful for the future and our next titles on Wii U!”
Chipot-Delys was also asked about the possibility of 3DS support. He said:
“I cannot tell you more for the moment, but it is a possibility…amongst a lot of others!”
Pokedex 3D Pro users can now add Genesect to the app. Follow the steps below and it can be yours!
- Go to the title screen menu
- Enter the Pokemon Challenge trivia segment
- Scroll to the bottom to Challenges 37-39
- Select the Delete button on any of these Challenges
- Enter the promotional code PHSKUTDF on the keyword screen
- Complete the 20-question trivia quiz
Genesect won’t be the only Pokemon to be made available through a promotional code. Nintendo already sent out a code for Meloetta, but it is only compatible with the Japanese release.
Nintendo has posted another round of character art and details from Fire Emblem: Awakening. The latest information covers Kellam, Sumia, Lon’qu, and Donnel. A rundown of each character is below, along with art.
Kellam
Kellam is our Fire Emblem Awakening character spotlight for today. He is a Shepherd whose infamous lack of presence makes him seem invisible to others.
Sumia
Sumia from Fire Emblem Awakening is a klutzy Shepherd with a lack of self-worth. She has a talent for working with animals.
Lon’qu
Lon’qu from Fire Emblem Awakening is a swordsman raised in Regna Ferox. He’s usually cool and curt with most people.
Donnel
Donnel is our Fire Emblem Awakening spotlight today. A villager from a remote corner of Ylisse, Donnel came to the fight with just his farming experience but he is eager to learn and shows a great deal of promise.
The L.A. Times today reports that Atari US has filed for bankruptcy. By doing so, the company hopes “to break free from their debt-laden French parent.”
Atari S.A., located in France, has control over each of its subsidiaries including Atari Interactive Inc. and Atari U.S. Unfortunately, the company’s overall revenue has seen a downturn over the past couple of decades.
