Unfortunately, a second high-profile 3DS game has been pushed out of fall and into 2013 – Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon being the first.

Konami is now set to release Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate in 2013. It was casually mentioned in the company’s Gamescom 2012 press release.

Take a look at this blurb:

“Konami’s resurrection of the Castlevania series continues, as the breath-taking Castlevania: Lords of Shadows series heads to Nintendo 3DS in 2013 with Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate. Developed by Mercury Steam and acting as a prequel to the forthcoming Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, the Nintendo 3DS game follows Trevor and Simon Belmont as they enter the shadow-laden castle of series villain, Dracula.”

All of a sudden, there’s a lot less to look forward to on the 3DS later this year. At least we still have Paper Mario!

Last we heard, Unchained Blades was scheduled to hit the eShop before year’s. It’s already been released on the PSP as a download.

Nintendo’s latest press release does raise a few questions about the status of the 3DS release, however.

Even though it still sounds like Unchained Blades is still on its way to the eShop, Nintendo lists the game as a retail title as well.

So what’s the deal here? Simple mistake? Or is Unchained Blades seeing a dual release at retailers and on the eShop?

A new downloadable reward is available on Club Nintendo.

Golf has been swapped out for 3D Classics: Excitebike. The game is available for 150 coins.

You can order 3D Classics: Excitebike here. It’s available as a 3DS eShop download until August 26.

Nintendo is getting a lot of flack for New Super Mario Bros. 2’s price point. The digital version is about £10 more expansive on  the eShop than it will be at retailers. That’s not exactly the best way to get consumers interested in buying retail games digitally!
