Even though The Conduit has suffered from a few online glitches and hackers, the system in place is still quite favorable for online gaming for Wii. Unfortunately, there aren’t many other FPS titles to choose from when it comes to playing with others through the Internet. Perhaps Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare will change that situation, though. Daniel Suarez, Activision’s Executive Producer for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Wii, stated at GamesCom that the company is developing what will “be probably the best multiplayer first-person shooter coming to the Wii.”

“And what Treyarch has done is they’ve ported this game to the Wii, really leveraging the great component of the system, the controls, and really delivering what we consider to be probably the best multiplayer first-person shooter coming to the Wii.”

Trade fair and event highlight of the interactive entertainment industry at Koelnmesse goes straight to the top as the world’s largest games fair. New level of visitor numbers and internationality. Industry, specialist and private visitors enthused by the trade fair and festival

The premiere of the new leading trade fair for interactive entertainment and games – gamescom – has been a complete success. 245,000 visitors came to the Koelnmesse site from 19 – 23 August to experience and try out game novelties provided by 458 exhibiting companies from 31 countries. Straight away this makes gamescom the largest games fair in the world and with a ratio of around 44 percent, internationally extremely successful. After five intensive trade fair days, event organiser Koelnmesse and its conceptual sponsor, the German Association of Interactive Entertainment Software (Bundesverband Interaktive Unterhaltungssoftware – BIU) were very pleased with the result.

At this year’s GamesCom, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom producer Ryota Niitsuma teased 4 new additions to the game’s roster in time for the North American/PAL release. No word yet on what those characters might be, but I don’t think I’m the only one hoping the game gets a little Phoenix Wright icing to top of what looks like a very delicious gaming cake.

Tokyo Games Show will be held this September. The game is slated for release this winter.
