An unlockables section in The Conduit’s offers a look at achievements, cheats, and concept galleries. There is, however, one item in particular that is quite interesting. As you continue to play through The Conduit and discover discs in single-player mode, there is one piece of concept art that can become available – Images of unused locations in The Conduit. There are clearly some areas which never made it into the final game such as the snow zone. Perhaps we’ll see the region if High Voltage develops a sequel.

Hamburg/Germany, July 8th, 2009 – Summer Athletics 2009’s Wii™ version will support Wii Balance Board™ controls. The game is equipped with a unique Balance Board Cup.
Console athletes will need their stability on the Wii Balance Board to control their character in the contest’s five disciplines. These are high jump, triple jump, hammer throwing, high dive and archery. Players wiggle their hips around to spin the hammer and gather speed. Holding your breath and standing evenly balanced is key to hitting the mark in archery. If you center your weight right in the middle of the Wii Balance Board, you have only to adjust to cross winds to score full points.
Like all contests and challenges in Summer Athletics 2009, the Balance Board cup is available in three difficulty settings. “Easy” is recommended for players who have never played a sports game before, “Average” appeals to more experienced players and “Difficult” requires the skills of advanced players. It is possible to obtain a fourth difficulty setting called “Champion” after unlocking special achievements. “Champion” features the hardest AI competitors that will challenge even gaming veterans.

Game system, brain trainer, fitness instructor, reading material, nursing assistant, internet browser, diabetes testing device; The DS sure can do a lot these days, and the list just continues to grow. Now, Nintendo and stock markey index Nikkei are teaming up to bring DS owners a little financial help with their new project, “You’ll Incur Losses if You Remain Ignorant: How Money and Things Work DS”. Here are the first details:
– Nikkei is supervising the project
– Players answer multiple choice questions concerning financial information
– You can view charts, graphs and more
– Will include voice acted news updates
– “Daily” mode
– “Nikkei test” is a business test to check your financial abilities
– Due out August 27 for ¥3,800
I’m not too sure how I feel about the name (which is a bit of a mouthful), but the software certainly helps the DS hold onto it’s “Something for everyone” image.
Final Fantasy Gaiden: 4 Warriors of Light producer Tomoya Asano said in a recent interview that he believes that many people preferred RPGs from an older era over those from today. In this light, he wants to make FFG:4WL more like those classic RPGs, and subsequently making them more enjoyable for the player.
“People often say that RPGs used to be more fun, so I’ve given a lot of thought to what the difference is between modern and classic RPGs. One result is that the story here is not told in events, but instead through NPC conversations as much as possible. Another is that much of the plot is left to more interpretation by the player, allowing them to enjoy the game world while using their imaginations to picture it in their mind.”
Previous outings of Pro Evolution Soccer on the Wii have disappointed fans, not because the games are bad, but rather because they tend to release quite a while after their PS3 and 360 counterparts. Thankfully, the up and coming “PES 2010” looks to be releasing much closer to its brethren, slated to come out this fall.
