Activision apparently has another Guitar Hero title for the DS in development called Guitar Hero Modern Hits. The company has already released two titles for the portable in a short amount of time, so I’m assuming that this will be similar to the previous two with a different tracklist.

“This is a music and rhythm simulation game in which players can perform songs on a guitar. Players follow on-screen prompts to hit notes in-time with the music and are scored based on their accuracy. Some song lyrics contain references to violence, (e.g., “drop dead a bullet to my head”), alcohol (e.g., “turn the rich into wine” and “we stole and drank champagne”), and suggestive content (e.g., “if your body matches what your eyes can do”).” – ESRB description

“This is a side-scrolling action game in which players control a cartoon toaster as it traverses through colorful environments. Environments are filled with whimsical enemies such as aggressive fruit and vegetable creatures. Players can shoot pastries at enemies and must avoid getting hit by projectiles (e.g., bamboo spears, “durians,” and wooden poles) to advance.” – ESRB description

Dangerous fruit and vegetable creatures? Count me in!

Nintendo has announced that they will begin to distribute video content on the Wii in the coming months. The company is partnering with ad agency Dentsu Inc to provide users with cartoons and other unspecified programs. The service will begin in Japan early next year. There are plans to bring the video content distribution overseas later in 2009. More specific content that will up for distribution is expected to be revealed in the future.

kojima2

Gamers who are avid followers of Hideo Kojima’s work have received an early Christmas present – the knowledge that the man is directing two new titles at the same time. The first title that will be revealed is more comparable to Kojima’s previous work, while the second title is being produced by Kojima Productions. Furthermore, Kojima Productions seems to be making the second title with the overseas market in mind. Sadly, no other details were divulged. No mention of a specific platforms for the games or specific gameplay details. Like was the case with Kojima’s most recent secret, I’m going to guess that these two titles will not end up on a Nintendo system. Then again, who knows!
