Let’s say you’re relaxing at home, but something doesn’t seem quite right. Maybe your house has ghosts. Clearly you need to get GhostSlayer, with its Wii MotionPlus™ accessory functionality, to figure out how to deal with them. Or maybe your house has a mouse. Mouse House™ puzzles seem the logical choice for you. Maybe you just need to get out of the house and try some fresh air with Family Go-Kart Racing. If it seems a bit brighter than usual outdoors, that’s probably because Aura-Aura, the star of Aura-Aura Climber™, has fallen out of the sky. While you’re out having fun, take and share some crazy pictures of your friends and family with Faceez, or spend a few relaxing hours directing flights with Flight Control™. And while you’re out there, you might want to spend some time helping a little boy recover his lost pet goldfish, Flipper.

The Wii’s Virtual Console service now offers over 300 retro games available for download. Chances are that of these 300 games, there has to be at least one title you haven’t heard of before. Events like Nintendo’s regular Hanabi Festival events add a lot of obscure, Japanese titles to the Virtual Console’s catalog. Not all of these games are necessarily good, but here are some of the better Japanese imports, as well as some other games that you might have overlooked.
Dora Puppy (DS) – E
Monster Rancher DS (DS) – E
Ferrari GT Evolution (DSi) – E
 Farmtopia (DS) – E
Monkey Madness: Island Escape (DS) – E10+
Love Is In Bloom (DS) – E
 Mega Man 4 (Wii) – E
 Satisfashion (DS/Wii) – E
Surviving High School (DSi) – E10+
Astro Bugz Revenge (Wii) – E
There has been much speculation about the DS’ successor, from the type of graphics the hardware will support to actual abilities the system will feature. But perhaps one of the more intriguing possibilities involves the successor making use of a new type of rumbling feedback.
At the end of January, Nintendo filed a patent that might be best described as a souped-up DS Rumble Pak. Basically, when a player touches the DS bottom screen (like an enemy), vibration would be felt through the stylus. The force of the vibration would vary based on variables such as enemy depth and strength/success of attacks.
“A game apparatus includes an LCD, and a touch panel is placed on a top surface of the LCD. A player instructs an enemy character displayed on the LCD by use of a stick to attack the enemy character. For example, in a case that the enemy character exists at a depth of a game screen, little damage is applied to the enemy character, and a weak vibration is applied to the game apparatus. Conversely, in a case that the enemy character exists at a front of the game screen, much damage is applied to the character, and a strong vibration is applied to the game apparatus. In either case, the vibrations are transmitted to the fingers or hands of the payer via the stick.”
At this point, it’s anyone’s guess if Nintendo plans on using this technology in the next DS. However, it certainly sounds more promising than the Rumble Pak.

Remember that Super Mario Sunshine nugget we posted yesterday? Well, here’s another hidden Nintendo secret for you.
Take a listen to the GameCube’s menu music:
Nothing seems to be too exciting about that, right? Well, let’s speed up the music by about twenty-five times…
Believe it or not, that music is actually the same song found on the Famicom disc system BIOS startup screen. Pretty neat, don’t you think?
