December 9th 2008 – Prepare for a touch of the paranormal as detective-adventure Lux-Pain is confirmed for a UK release by Rising Star Games. Available exclusively on Nintendo DS™, Lux-Pain features a unique adventure system where it is necessary to ‘extract’ evil parasites by erasing on the bottom screen what you see on the top. To accompany this announcement, the first set of screenshots and the official trailer have been released, highlighting the dark anime atmosphere. Lux-Pain will be released in the UK during March 2009.

Bizarre and paranormal murders have put Kisaragi City into a state of fear. A powerful mind parasite known as SILENT is spreading throughout the city. It infects humans and pushes them to perform horrendous acts by controlling their minds. Atsuki is a member of FORT, a secret organisation devoted to eradicating this parasite. Despatched to Kisaragi City as an undercover student, Atsuki has a special skill that can gain him the advantage against an invisible enemy: he can see SILENT.

Independent developer ClockStone Software is working on a DS version of the successful RPG series.

Innsbruck, December 10, 2008. Wicked black humor, a dark and sinister setting, an elaborate magic and fight system – these are just some of the elements that make the RPG series Vampires Dawn such a hit. Now, the Austrian development studio ClockStone – best known for their action-RPG Avencast – is planning a Nintendo DS version of the award-winning series. For this project, they will be working with Vampires Dawn creator Dawnatic and the Munich-based production company remote control productions.

Game designer Tri Do Dinh is crazy about Vampires Dawn: “It’s incredibly fun to play a villainous vampire who strikes fear into the heart of the villagers in a humorous and very entertaining way. The character controls and the mechanics of the puzzles will transfer easily to DS.” CEO Michael Schiestl adds: “Our team learned a lot about the RPG genre when we were working on Avencast. We’re highly motivated to continue our work in this area and to increase our involvement in the handheld sector.”

Amidst the exciting news of Dragon Quest X for Wii, Square Enix also dated another anticipated title, Dragon Quest IX for Japan. The game will be available on March 28 of next year for 5980 yen. Since the most recent event was focused more on the Japanese-side of things, no news about a North American release date was discussed. However, the game is pretty much a shoe-in for other territories.

Mr. Resetti is an occasionally annoying character that has appeared in all Animal Crossing titles, but no one would say that he could disturb anyone…Right? Well, Nintendo has issued a warning in the Animal Crossing: City Folk instruction booklet about Mr. Resetti, and believe it or not note that he “may be disturbing to young children.”

“It is important that players save before switching off the Wii console in order to retain data after each play session (see Saving Data, above). If players switch off without saving, the character Mr. Resetti may appear upon restarting. Mr. Resetti’s purpose is to teach players the importance of saving. However, parents should be aware that his personality and tone of voice, while intentionally humourous, are authoritative and may be disturbing to young children.”

Most of us have played The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time before, but never quite like this. A group of people are working together to remake the beta version of the game. Items such as a fishing rod that can be equipped and a reed whistle for calling Epona will be included. Additionally, you’ll be able to see a few neat locations including the Castle Sewers, which was initially the way that it would be possible to escape Hyrule Castle.
