The Official Nintendo Magazine has notified its readers that the next issue will release slightly behind schedule. The delay comes from what the magazine describes as “great exclusive content.” The word on the street is that the magazine could have scored something big for its latest issue, but that remains to be seen. I suppose we’ll find out what this exclusive content is in a few short weeks.
The full email body can be read below:
“This is a courtesy email just to let you know that you will be receiving your next issue of Official Nintendo Magazine on or around the 14th February. The delay is due to some great exclusive content that has resulted in us having to send out your subscription copy slightly later than planned.”
The British Academy Video Game Awards will be held on 10 March in London.

Just wanted to give you all the quick heads up that the site will experience some downtime shortly…Hopefully not for long. The only thing that concerns me is that our host may screw something up because they have in the past. In fact, the last time the site went down, a large amount of the time was wasted thanks to our host’s errors!
Anyway, the maintenance isn’t much. If we don’t come back immediately though, don’t panic!

“I can say we currently don’t have any plans for the Wii. The Wii is a very difficult platform, not just because of the performance but mainly because of the controls. There haven’t been any successful shooters so far, as I see it, on Wii. DICE as a studio is quite autonomous. We focus on what we think is best for the studio. If that involves Nintendo or not, well we’ll see about that.” – DICE producer Patrick Liu
I wouldn’t exactly say there haven’t been any successful shooters on Wii. Some might count Metroid Prime 3 as a shooter (or at least somewhat), and Medal of Honor: Heroes 2 had spot-on controls. It’s true that there haven’t been a plethora of titles to choose from, but there have been some successful shooter titles/shooting elements from games.
Organizers have revealed that Hideo Kojima, Corporate Officer, Executive Producer and Director of Kojima Productions, will deliver a keynote address at next months 2009 Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco.
Known for giving rise to the stealth action game genre with his creation of the acclaimed Metal Gear series more than two decades ago, Kojima’s keynote will focus on conquering various development obstacles with creative game design, using the driving game design philosophies behind the Metal Gear series as reference.
The address, “Solid Game Design: Making the ‘Impossible’ Possible,” marks Kojima’s debut appearance at the GDC. The Game Developers Conference takes place March 23-27 at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco.
