First 4 Figures will soon be releasing a new Link statue based on the character’s appearance in Breath of the Wild. On its YouTube channel, the company provides fans with a look at the figure’s creation straight from the assembly line. Check out the video below.
There’s no question that Ganondorf’s design in Ocarina of Time is extremely iconic. Ganon had appeared in previous titles in beast form, but the N64 game was Nintendo’s first attempt at giving him a humanoid form. Ganondorf’s look turned out well in the end fortunately, but it took some time to get there.
A couple of Nintendo artists spoke about creating Ganondorf’s design in the new Zelda: Art & Artifacts book. As the person in charge of enemies for Ocarina of Time, the job of making his model was left to Satoru Takizawa, who accomplished the task done after much trial and error.
Takizawa’s first attempt at Ganondorf resulted in a model that was actually “a lot thinner, and his head almost looked bird-like.” As for Yusuke Nakano, he came up with an illustration that had “wide-open eyes.” According to Takizawa, the art for Ganondorf “initially looked like a brute who had nothing but raw strength.”
Here’s the full discussion from Zelda: Art & Artifacts about Ganondorf’s design in Ocarina of Time:
It’s already known that in Splatoon 2, up to eight Switch systems can be connected through local wireless. But on the series’ Tumblr page, Nintendo spoke about another secret LAN Play feature. This can be used to connect eight docked systems using a wired LAN setup. In doing so, you can participate in local Private Battle tournaments without connecting to the internet.
Nintendo adds:
“If you’re willing to put in the work to set up LAN Play, you can also use the Private Battle Spectator View feature by hooking up two additional Nintendo Switch systems. Local wireless play is perfect for your regular gaming get-togethers, but LAN Play is where it’s at when you want to organize a serious tournament event with your fellow players.”
Update: Here’s the news from Nintendo of America:

Original: Nintendo just shared an important piece of news about Splatoon 2 on the series’ official Twitter page.
Splatoon 2 has a “Private Battle Spectator View”, or basically a spectator mode. Other than the first eight participants who are playing, the ninth and tenth players can join as cameramen to view the battle. They can switch between bird’s-eye view and other players’ third-person views.
Two people can act as cameramen. If they wanted to, they could live stream using the special mode view, and could be broadcasters or commentators like a baseball game or Splatoon Koshien tournament. You also can show the turf map, so you can switch between each cameraman’s role, like one cameraman showing each player’s view while the other shows the map to determine how the battle is going.
Here’s a brief look at the functionality:

WCCFTech caught up with Rebellion for an interview that was primarily focused on Sniper Elite 4. However, the site also asked a question about Switch. That prompted a representative from Rebellion’s technical department to say that the system “certainly brings some fascinating options to the table”.
Here are the full comments:
“It’s always exciting to see a new console and of course a new Nintendo console. The Switch certainly brings some fascinating options to the table – I know our Co-founder Chris Kingsley said he likes how flexible the controllers are. Currently, we’ve only announced Sniper Elite 4 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, and we’ve got nothing more to announce at the moment.”
Back in the day, Rebellion brought Sniper Elite V2 to Wii U. It’d be interesting to see if the developer would be up to supporting Switch in the future.
Team Cherry created a new trailer for Hollow Knight, which is heading to Switch soon. View the video below.
As part of Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night’s February Kickstarter update, two new enemies are introduced. We have a first look at the flying harpy Aello and the demon beast Gieremund.
Below are the official comments from Bloodstained Koji Igarashi about both enemies:
“Our first new enemy is Aello. This flying harpy keeps its distance from the player. Our original plan was to put her in the ship stage, where she would use physical and wind attacks.
This second enemy is Gieremund, a fast-moving, beast-type demon that attacks on all fours. Guarding against this enemy’s attacks will require quick reflexes.”
Also for the new Kickstarter update, Igarashi interviewed composer Michiru Yamane. Watch the full discussion below.
This week’s episode of Nintendo Minute has gone live. In today’s video, Kit and Krysta offer a tour of the new Zelda: Art & Artifacts book. Take a look at the full episode below.
