Atari issued a new featurette trailer for Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration that teases six brand new games that were made for the package.

Aside from emulating the beloved original games included in the collection, Digital Eclipse also created six completely new games inspired by the classics of decades past. Swordquest: AirWorld is particularly noteworthy since it’s the missing, last installment in the four-game Swordquest series that fans can finally finish 40 years later.

Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration is expected on Switch in the near future, and we may now have the full game list. A retailer in the Netherlands has seemingly revealed the lineup of titles.

Atari Mania physical

Atari Mania is arriving digitally on Switch next week, but it turns out that a physical version is also planned. This comes courtesy of Limited Run Games.

Atari Mania will only have a standard release – no special edition. However, a bundle is planned that includes the original CD soundtrack.

A final release date has come in for Atari Mania, a microgame mashup. Switch owners can pick it up starting on October 13, 2022.

Atari Mania has players taking on the role of the Caretaker of the Atari Vault. It’s up to the player to mend and defend corrupted Atari titles, restoring order to the classic games and avoiding the wrath of the dastardly “dead pixels”.

Black Widow: Recharged Asteroids: Recharged Breakout: Recharged

Atari has announced that Asteroids, Centipede, Breakout, Black Widow, and Gravitar: Recharged have been updated with new content on Switch.

Starting today, players can access bonus challenge levels that were previously only available to owners of the Atari VCS. The stages, which present the highest level of difficulty, offer new challenges to existing players and an added value to anyone purchasing the titles for the first time. Arcade Mode also now provides three lives instead of one, just like the coin-op arcade versions they are based on. Finally, Black Widow: Recharged now has an Arachnophobia Mode, which turns the spider into a frosty snowman, poised to shoot snowflakes in lieu of webs.

Asteroids, Centipede, Breakout, Black Widow, and Gravitar: Recharged are all currently available on the Switch eShop.

Atari Mania involves players taking on the role of Caretaker of the Atari Vault, the repository for all classic Atari games. One day, chaos is unleashed as dead pixels suddenly appear in the Vault and begin wreaking havoc.
