Crunching Koalas

Crunching Koalas has announced its next game for Switch. The studio is working with original developer Pixelated Milk on Regalia: Of Men and Monarchs – Royal Edition.

Regalia: Of Men and Monarchs is a tactical RPG “about the restoration of your kingdom, bonding with vibrant characters met during your journey, embarking on the most peculiar quests possible, and bringing back your best jRPG moments in an up-to-date, accessible style.” The new Royal Edition features all additional in-game content, including an endless mode and brand-new characters.

Some of you may recall that Sky Force Reloaded was released on Wii U earlier this year. Another entry is now on the way to Switch called Sky Force Reloaded, which is now officially confirmed.

Sky Force Reloaded is an air-based arcade shoot ’em up that acts as a sequel to Sky Force Anniversary. Features like online tournaments and a co-op mode are included. On Switch, the plan is to have the game ready sometime in December.

We have more details about Sky Force Reloaded below, along with a trailer.

Lichtspeer: Double Speer Edition isn’t the only Switch game from Crunching Koalas with an update. A new patch is out for Butcher, too. The game has been upgraded to version 1.0.1.

The new Butcher update is primarily intended to fix crashes. Crunching Koalas also eliminated three white pixels that were appearing in the left-lower corner.

Lichtspeer hinges on its own awareness of the nonsensical retro-techno Norse premise that it strikes the player with. “Achtung” it explains in a preface, “nothing you are about to see will make any sense.” This ancient Germanic spear-throwing game from a future perpendicular dimension is a load of nonsense – but it was intriguing. Just enough so to uncover a tight and surprisingly demanding score attack game.

The 2D shooter Butcher is now available on Switch as an eShop download. Take a look at some footage below.

Following Lichtspeer: Double Speer Edition, Butcher is arriving on the eShop today as Crunching Koalas’ next Switch game. Watch the launch trailer below.

This week is turning out to be very packed for Switch eShop games. And it looks like we can add another title dropping on Thursday, in Europe at least. The Switch eShop is listing Butcher from Crunching Koalas on September 28.

We first found out about Butcher when Lichtspeer: Double Speer Edition’s eShop listing appeared. Crunching Koalas published that one as well. As for Butcher, it’s a “fast-paced 2D shooter and a blood-soaked love letter to the cult classics of the genre.”
