Square Enix today announced the release date for Dragon Quest 1 & 2 HD-2D Remake as well as a version for Nintendo Switch 2. On the upcoming console as well as on Switch 1, it’s launching on October 30, 2025.
Dragon Quest 1 & 2 HD-2D Remake follows Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake, which launched at the end of last year.

After it was announced last year, the first trailer has dropped for Dragon Quest 1 & 2 HD-2D Remake. This comes as part of today’s Nintendo Direct.
Similar to the franchise’s third entry that debuted at the end of 2024, two more games as part of the Erdrick Trilogy are being completely updated. A new character has also been teased.
