Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe

A special Kirby panel was held at GDC 2023 last month, and the full panel has now been uploaded officially online.

HAL Laboratory developers Shinya Kumazaki and Tatsuya Kamiyama were both on hand to speak about how they brought traditional Kirby gameplay into a 3D world with Kirby and the Forgotten Land, plus there was discussion about some features in the game like Mouthful Mode. The second part of the panel shifts to Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe with talk about how the team reimagined the 2D gameplay and the world of the multiplayer Wii title.

Original (2/23): To celebrate the launch of Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe, new icons have just been added to Nintendo Switch Online.

Users can spend their points on characters, backgrounds, and frames. Each one costs 5 or 10 Platinum Points on My Nintendo. New icons will be available for the next month, with the lineup rotating Thursdays.

Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe is just on the horizon, and retailers are now starting to reveal pre-order bonuses for the game. We’ll keep this post updated with any new information on that front leading up to launch.

This title is a remake of the original game released on Wii. Aside from a visual update, there are new elements as well. The Mecha and Sand Abilities make their debuts, while the Festival Ability makes a comeback from Kirby Star Allies. Subgames are back from the original Kirby’s Return to Dream Land, but there are also new ones like Magolor’s Tome Trackers. Up to four people can play at once on the same system by sharing Joy-Con controllers.

A pair of new demos are incoming for Switch. Along with Octopath Traveler II, Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe will have a trial on the eShop.

With Octopath Traveler II, fans can experience the game’s opening hours. As for Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe, up to four players can play a specially arranged demo with select stages and subgames.

Octopath Traveler II and Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe are both due out for Switch on February 24, 2023.

Nintendo just put out a new Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe trailer titled “Welcome to Merry Magoland”. The video introduces the various subgame-based attractions that up to four players can participate in.

Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe is only a few weeks away, which means it’s about time for information surrounding the game to begin leaking online. This may have already begun, with someone on Reddit posting what might be the back of the game’s box.

Reddit user Sad_Bat1933 posted an image of the presumed box online, and for the most part it looks pretty standard. However, it does show what seems to be an as-of-yet-unrevealed new mode for the game, titled “Magolor Epilogue”. You can view an image of the box below.

Nintendo continue to reveal new details about Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe in the run-up to release, today giving players a sneak peak at Samurai Kirby 100. This will be a variant of the Samurai Kirby minigame, with the added bonus of being able to compete against 99 other players from around the world.
