LEGO City Undercover

Over at Nintendo World Report, a preview of LEGO City Undercover’s new version gives us a look at the added co-op feature in action. A bit of footage showing the feature is in the video below.

LEGO City Undercover was originally a Wii U game, though it’s now seeing new life on the latest gaming systems such as Switch. The game will feature some improvements and additions.

As for why LEGO City Undercover is being revisited in the first place, it seems that the team has a strong attachment to the game. “It’s something that’s quite personal to us,” producer Matt Ellison told Game Informer this month.

Warner Bros. and TT Games announced today that LEGO City Undercover will launch for Switch on April 4 (April 7 in the UK).

A new trailer is also live, posted below. It highlights the new two-player co-op mode as well as Chase McCain’s various disguises.

GameStop is offering a pre-order bonus for LEGO City Undercover on Switch. If you reserve the game, you’ll get a LEGO City Police Helicopter. It features “spinning rotors and a pilot mini figure.”

When LEGO City Undercover originally came out on Wii U, it featured some secret Nintendo cameos. Even though the game is now going multiplatform, those cameos are being retained on Switch, according to Nintendo’s website.

At least so far, LEGO City Undercover on Switch seems to be identical to its Wii U counterpart from a pure content perspective. However, Amazon has revealed a new feature for the upcoming version of the game. Two player co-op is supported so that “friends can explore the sprawling open-world metropolis that is LEGO City”, according to the listing.

Original: Warner Bros. Interactive has just revealed that LEGO City Undercover is getting a new entry on Switch and other platforms. The game, which is either an updated version of a new title, will launch in Spring 2017.
