Moon Chronicles has now been approved by Nintendo of America. The game’s official Twitter account shared the news, writing the following:

Renegade Kid is wrapping up development on Moon Chronicles. According to studio co-founder Jools Watsham, the studio is currently polishing and addressing bugs.

Moon Chronicles will be submitted to Nintendo “soon,” he said.

The file size of Moon Chronicles’ first episode weighs in at about 180MB, according to Renegade Kid.

Watsham also said the final version going on up the eShop won’t be heavily compressed. Cut-scenes will feature minimal compression and max bandwidth.

Moon Chronicles could eventually make its way to the Wii U, depending on how successful the 3DS version is.

Renegade Kid co-founder Jools Watsham told NintendoWorldReport that the studio has considered the shooter for Nintendo’s hardware, but it “would only happen if the 3DS version is a runaway hit”. The company would need to be able to “afford to invest in a complete visual upgrade to take advantage of the increased graphical power offered by the Wii U.”

Renegade Kid’s Moon Chronicles was inspired by Metroid, studio co-founder Jools Watsham has said.

Watsham, speaking with Siliconera, pointed out that he looked to Super Metroid for the flow and level design. Metroid Prime: Hunters also helped inspire Moon’s control scheme.
