Mortal Kombat 1 update

Mortal Kombat 1 is starting to launch, and we have the patch notes for a day-one update. Some players can get early access through the game’s Premium Edition.

You’ll want to download the update as it enables both the story campaign and online gameplay, among other elements. Bug fixes are also included.

Here’s the full rundown:

Mortal Kombat 1 Jean-Claude Van Damme

Another Mortal Kombat 1 trailer just dropped for Jean-Claude Van Damme. In the game’s Premium Edition, he’ll be appearing as a skin for Johnny Cage.

Damme is a martial artist, actor, filmmaker, and fight choreographer. Some of the movies he’s appeared in include Street Fighter, The Expendables 2, and the Kung Fu Panda franchise.

Mortal Kombat 1 Nitara

Mortal Kombat 1 continues to roll out new character reveals, and Nitara has now been confirmed for the roster. She first appeared in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, which hit the GameCube in 2002.

In Mortal Kombat 11, Nitara will be voiced by Megan Fox. Regarding her role, she said: “I grew up playing Mortal Kombat and I can’t believe that I’m voicing a character in the new game. It’s an honor to be a part of one of the greatest video game legacies of all time.”

As for the character itself, here’s what Warner Bros. shared:

Mortal Kombat 1 General Shao and Sindel

Mortal Kombat 1 came back with a new trailer for Gamescom 2023, and it included a couple of reveals – specifically the inclusion of General Shao and Sindel.

Mortal Kombat 1 Reptile, Ashrah, and Havik

Mortal Kombat 1 isn’t slowing down on the character reveals, and has now announced Reptile, Ashrah, and Havik. This comes as prat of a new trailer released just a short while ago dubbed “Banished”.

Here’s the rundown straight from Warner Bros.:

Mortal Kombat 1 Geras

At DreamCon 2023 today, Geras was revealed as the latest character for Mortal Kombat 1. A new trailer debuted at the event sharing the news.

Geras, who was created by the former Keeper of Time, first appeared in Kombat 11. He was that game’s antagonist in the Story Mode.

Warner Bros. and Netherrealm Studios have chosen to showcase more of Mortal Kombat 1 at San Diego Comic-Con 2023, with a whopping nine new characters being revealed for the game. These consist of 3 new base roster characters, as well as the 6 characters available through the game’s first Kombat Pack.

For the base roster, we have Li Mei, Tanya, and Baraka, with Li Mei having her first playable experience since 2006’s Mortal Kombat Armageddon. Meanwhile the six characters available in the first Kombat Pack consist of Omni-Man, Quan Chi, Peacemaker, Ermac, Homelander, and Takeda. These six characters will be available as DLC content after the game’s release. Additionally, two new Kameo fighters were announced for the game, these being Goro and Darrius.

You can watch the two trailers showing off all of these new characters below.

Mortal Kombat 1 Lin Kuei

Mortal Kombat 1 just put out its latest trailer, with Warner Bros. and NetherRealm Studios focusing on Lin Kuei. The video includes a look at Smoke and Rain plus Cyrax, Sektor, Frost, and more.

As a brief recap, here’s what to expect from Mortal Kombat 1:

Mortal Kombat 1 is perhaps the most jaw-dropping fighting game I’ve ever had the privilege of playing. And not just in a figurative sense, because there’s literally an X-Ray attack in which Sub-Zero skewers his opponent’s brain through their mouth with a shard of ice, rendered in a shocking amount of detail. Between the new Kameo mechanic, an increased focus on aerial play, and some of the most stunning visuals I’ve ever seen in a fighting game, this is a game that feels next-gen from edge to edge. That’s a polite way of saying: I have no idea how they are going to get this running on Switch.

Mortal Kombat 1 gameplay trailer

The first gameplay for Mortal Kombat 1 has just come in. Footage was shown off at the start of Summer Game Fest 2023 today.
