My Nintendo

My Nintendo received a substantial update yesterday in a few ways. The site itself was refreshed with a new look, and some new rewards were added in. We have a couple of extra things to point out that may have gone unnoticed.

First, you can now earn 50 extra Platinum Points. You can do so by clicking on your Mii three different times (on three different pages). The first two times you find your Mii, you’ll earn 10 points, and another 30 for the final time.

Flipnote Studio 3D has also returned, and costs 200 Platinum Points. It carries no expiration date, so the reward won’t be leaving My Nintendo anytime soon.

One other very small but neat detail by the way: you can click on a button on the missions page to collect all points at once.

Aside from today’s new 3DS theme and orchestra videos, My Nintendo has also added in discounts for a pair of Zelda titles. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past for Wii U / New 3DS and Zelda: Skyward Sword for Wii U are 30 percent off.

A Link to the Past will set you back 240 Platinum Points. Meanwhile, Skyward Sword is 50 Gold Points. Both will last until March 2.

Earlier today, My Nintendo added a new Zelda 30th anniversary theme in Japan. Get a look at it below.

The My Nintendo website has been given a new look. The changes are mostly aesthetic, featuring your Mii performing various activities (such as playing the 3DS or fishing) instead of merely pacing around. It also highlights more than just the My Nintendo rewards, such as having easy links to Pokemon and Miitomo’s websites. Unfortunately, the change does seem to have removed the Platinum coins that could be picked up each week by visiting the site.

Several new rewards have are now available on My Nintendo in Europe. First of all, another 3DS home menu theme is now available, depicting Isabelle from Animal Crossing. Like the others, it costs 200 Platinum Points.

Also available are launch discounts for two of Atlus’ upcoming games. For 50 Gold Points each, you can get a 10% discount on Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse and 7th Dragon III Code: VFD, which both launch in Europe on December 2nd. You can redeem these rewards on My Nintendo between December 1st and December 9th; the discount will be valid until December 15th.

In this week’s Nintendo Download report, the My Nintendo Holiday Sweepstakes was highlighted. If you choose the five gifts on your wish list this year, you could win a prize pack featuring Mario, Pokemon, Zelda, or Animal Crossing products.

Even if you don’t win anything, there’s an extra benefit: My Nintendo points. Those who participate in the sweepstakes will be provided with 10 Platinum Points. Additionally, you’ll earn another 10 points if you share your most-wanted gift list on Facebook.

Earlier today, My Nintendo was updated with a number of new rewards on the North American website.

First, the Samus theme that previously came out in Europe and Japan is now live, costing 200 Platinum Points. The following discounts were also added:

– 30% off Super Metroid (New 3DS) – 20 Gold Points
– 30% off Metroid: Zero Mission (Wii U) – 20 Gold Points
– 20% off Metroid Prime Trilogy (Wii U) – 400 Platinum Points

It’s also worth mentioning that the Ink Tank Miitomo reward has returned for 100 Platinum Points.

Access these and other rewards on My Nintendo here.

With the major Miitomo update Nintendo pushed out tonight, a trio of new missions have been added to My Nintendo. Users can earn up to 13 Miitomo/Platinum Points each day. Two missions provide five points, while the other awards three points.

The missions are as follows:

– 3 Miitomo/Platinum Points: Answer 1 question in Answer Central (daily)
– 5 Miitomo/Platinum Points: Post in Style Central (daily)
– 5 Miitomo/Platinum Points: Send a message to a friend in Miitomo (daily)

More information about the new missions can be found on My Nintendo here.

My Nintendo added in a new set of discount rewards this past week. Strangely, a couple have now been “reduced in price” on the North American website.

Previously, the 30 percent discount on EarthBound for both Wii U and 3DS required 40 Gold Points. Now though, both are down to 30 Gold Points. Xenoblade Chronicles on Wii U has also dropped from 70 to 50 Gold Points.

If you ordered these discounts before they were reduced, you might be out of luck. There’s no way to regain points on the website itself. The only advice we can offer is calling Nintendo’s customer support line – maybe they can provide some assistance.

In North America, a new My Nintendo reward can now be redeemed. A 3DS theme featuring Isabelle was added in today, costing 100 Platinum Points. It looks to be a permanent reward as no expiration date is listed.

For now, the Isabelle 3DS theme doesn’t appear to be up in Europe. Nintendo will likely put it up soon though, and we’ll let you know when that happens.
