Pokemon GO players can get their hands on the latest update for Pokemon GO. On iOS, it’s now at version 1.7.33. Android users can access version 0.103.3.

Today’s update makes it so that players can transform Rare Candy to a specific Pokemon’s Candy in bulk. And as always, there are various bug fixes and performance updates.

Pokemon GO Fest

Pokemon GO Fest did not go well for Niantic last year. Due to technical issues, many of the events that had been planned couldn’t take place or were severely impacted. Many players who stopped by couldn’t even log in due to an abundance of traffic and other problems.

Despite Pokemon GO Fest not going over well in 2017, Niantic is trying things again this year. The company announced earlier today that the big event is returning to Chicago in July. Following the news, IGN caught up with Niantic CEO John Hanke, who reflected on all of the problems that occurred last year and how the company has learned from its mistakes.

Pokemon GO Fest 2018 Safari Zone

Ninatic is bringing back two of its summer events for Pokemon GO as part of the Pokemon GO Summer Tour 2018. Along with Pokemon GO Fest for North America, Safari Zone events will be running in Europe.

After a disastrous inaugural event in 2017, Pokemon GO Fest will be giving things another go. This year’s event will again be held in Chicago between July 14 and July 15. Niantic promises that A Walk in the Park ” will offer a unique, immersive play experience unseen anywhere else that will create a daylong adventure for Trainers.” Exclusive activities are planned.

As for the Safari Zone event, it’ll be held in Dortmund, Germany between June 30 and July 1. According to Niantic, “Activities will expand to Dortmund’s entire city district, inviting players from all over Europe to explore the city’s cultural history”.

Pokemon GO is kicking off a new event today. Starting at 1 PM PT / 4 PM ET, Fighting-type Pokemon are more likely to appear.

Today’s event will also entail some bonuses at Gyms and more. We have the full lowdown from Niantic below.

Pokemon GO

It’s unclear how it happened (other than what was probably just a happy circumstance), but Niantic CEO John Hanke ended up on a flight with Pokemon GO player Doctor PoGo. The two ended up sitting next to each other and Hanke dished on the mobile game’s future.

Here’s a roundup of information shared about what’s planned for Pokemon GO:

Pokemon GO - Field Research

Field Research missions have been one of the biggest additions to Pokemon GO, especially this year. Niantic will be looking to keep things fresh with a new set of tasks going live next week.

On May 1 at 1 PM PT / 4 PM ET, players will be able to partake in a new round of Field Research missions. These will focus on Flying- and Electric-type Pokemon, including skill-based tasks that will challenge your abilities as a Trainer.
