Publisher Microids has announced a partnership with Oddworld Inhabitants involving the distribution of three Oddworld titles on Switch.

Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath was announced for Switch last September, but then sort of disappeared. We haven’t heard anything about its status since then.

Fortunately, the port is still in the works. And on top of that, it sounds like some very big news about the series overall could be announced in the near future.

Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath is on the way to Switch, Nintendo has revealed. The game will be seeing its playable debut at EGX 2018 next weekend.

With Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath making it to Switch, it’s the first time it’ll be appearing on a Nintendo platform. Xbox had it originally, and a new release took place on various platforms a few years later, but never on Wii U.

It’s been a very long time since Oddworld Inhabitants and Just Add Water made their plans known about Wii U. As you may remember, the two companies originally hoped to bring Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath HD and Oddworld: New ‘N’ Tasty to the eShop.

We found out earlier today that New ‘N’ Tasty is still on track for Wii U. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said of Stranger’s Wrath HD.

Oddworld Inhabitants told one fan on Twitter today that there are “no current plans” to bring Stranger’s Wrath HD to Wii U. The studio did at least say that the status could change in the future.
