Team17 and Playtonic have shared a new video for Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair. In the trailer below, you can learn about how discovering secrets and solving puzzles in the overworld will let you unlock alternate level states.

Retailers have added in listings for Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair, the next platformer from Playtonic. These pages also have the boxart included, which we’ve attached above.

Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair was shown off with first gameplay during Nintendo Treehouse: Live at E3 2019. We have the full recording below.

Playtonic closed out the week by announcing Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair. This time around, the team has created a 2D platforming adventure hybrid.

Following the announcement, Playtonic posted an FAQ on its website covering a bit more of the game. First, the studio says it “isn’t a direct sequel.” And while Playtonic has “lots planned for the future of the Yooka-Laylee universe,” the company wants to make the different games “with a fresh take”.

Playtonic appears to be gearing up for the imminent reveal of a new game. The studio, which released Yooka-Laylee as its first game, says it will have news to share tomorrow.

Yesterday, the Yooka-Laylee’s 64-Bit Tonic Mode finally went live on Switch. Have a look at some footage in the video below.

It might be April Fools’ Day, but there is at least one announcement we know is real. Playtonic has long talked about and teased the 64-Bit Tonic update for Yooka-Laylee, and it’s finally live. The patch adds an optional way of playing through the 3D platformer with a retro style.
