Retro City Rampage: DX

Vblank Entertainment has further teased what the upcoming Retro City Rampage: DX update will offer for New 3DS owners. Thus far, it’s been confirmed that dual stick shooting will become possible with the c-stick. It sounds like a few other things are planned as well, but we’ve yet to hear any additional specifics.

Vblank Entertainment is planning an update for Retro City Rampage: DX that will take advantage of the system’s new buttons.

As mentioned on the game’s official Twitter account:


The New 3DS adds ZL and ZR buttons. Additionally, Nintendo is including a c-stick for secondary analog control.

Retro City Rampage: DX seems to be doing very well for Vblank Entertainment.

In its first month, the 3DS version has already managed to outsell the Xbox Live Arcade release. That’s despite launching a year later on Nintendo’s portable and only in North America initially.

Retro City Rampage: DX’s first update will launch tomorrow, Vblank Entertainment has confirmed. A trailer for the patch can be found above.

Retro City Rampage: DX’s first update is done, and now only needs to go through certification on Nintendo’s end. Once that’s completed, the patch should be available.

Vblank Entertainment is currently working on a free content update for Retro City Rampage: DX. But creator Brian Provinciano doesn’t intend to stop there.

Via the game’s official Twitter account, Provinciano said that Retro City Rampage: DX will continue to receive free updates in the future. “More cool stuff on the way,” he teased.

Retro City Rampage: DX has only been out for a couple of days – and has yet to land in Europe – but a free content update is already in the works.

Retro City Rampage: DX launched on the North American 3DS eShop this past Thursday. It should be out in Europe on February 20.
