Retro City Rampage: DX

Vblank Entertainment has further teased what the upcoming Retro City Rampage: DX update will offer for New 3DS owners. Thus far, it’s been confirmed that dual stick shooting will become possible with the c-stick. It sounds like a few other things are planned as well, but we’ve yet to hear any additional specifics.

Vblank Entertainment is planning an update for Retro City Rampage: DX that will take advantage of the system’s new buttons.

As mentioned on the game’s official Twitter account:

The New 3DS adds ZL and ZR buttons. Additionally, Nintendo is including a c-stick for secondary analog control.

Retro City Rampage: DX seems to be doing very well for Vblank Entertainment.

In its first month, the 3DS version has already managed to outsell the Xbox Live Arcade release. That’s despite launching a year later on Nintendo’s portable and only in North America initially.

Vblank tweeted out the sales news a short while ago:

Retro City Rampage: DX’s first update will launch tomorrow, Vblank Entertainment has confirmed. A trailer for the patch can be found above.

Retro City Rampage: DX’s first update is done, and now only needs to go through certification on Nintendo’s end. Once that’s completed, the patch should be available.

The official Retro City Rampage Twitter account tweeted just a short while ago:

We also have a bit of news regarding Retro City Rampage: DX’s Australian release:

Vblank Entertainment has provided a look at Retro City Rampage: DX’s music jukebox, which will be added in the game through update #1. Check out the Vine clip below:

Vblank Entertainment is currently working on a free content update for Retro City Rampage: DX. But creator Brian Provinciano doesn’t intend to stop there.

Via the game’s official Twitter account, Provinciano said that Retro City Rampage: DX will continue to receive free updates in the future. “More cool stuff on the way,” he teased.

Retro City Rampage: DX has only been out for a couple of days – and has yet to land in Europe – but a free content update is already in the works.

A message posted on the game’s official Twitter account confirms the news:

Retro City Rampage: DX launched on the North American 3DS eShop this past Thursday. It should be out in Europe on February 20.
