Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition is off to a pretty good start in Japan. As reported by Famitsu a couple of days ago, the game sold about 91,000 units in its first week. That actually makes it the series’ second-highest debut to date.

Here’s a breakdown of first week sales for all of the Xenoblade releases in Japan:

NPD Group recently revealed the top five best-selling Star Wars video games of all time in the United States.

A pair of these titles appeared on Nintendo platforms. LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga comes in at #3, while Star Wars: The Force Unleashed sits at #5.

Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition

The latest Japanese hardware sales from Famitsu are as follows:

According to data collected by Golden Casino News, Nintendo sold 4.2 million Switch units in March, bringing the console’s lifetime sales up to 55.77 million thus far. Golden Casino News also reports that North America represents the largest portion of these sales at 20.61 million units sold as of May, compared to Europe’s 14.3 million units, and Japan’s 13.4 million.

Nintendo’s Switch software sales have also shared in this success, with the top five selling games being Mario Kart 8 Deluxe with 24.77 million, Super Smash Brothers Ultimate with 18.84 million, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild at 17.41 million, Super Mario Odyssey at 17.41 million, and Pokemon Sword and Shield at 17.37 million.

The Pokemon Company has released its financial report for the fiscal year ending February 2020.

Net profit was recorded at 15.3 billion yen, a 14.8 percent increase year-over-year. Pokemon GO is still a major contributing factor, and the launch of Pokemon Sword/Shield certainly helped as well.

The Pokemon Company ended up with its second best year in history. You can find a chart below comparing net profits since 2014.

This week’s UK software sales are in, revealing a strong debut for Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition.

In its first week, the game topped the charts and landed at the top spot. Although it sold slightly fewer copies than Xenoblade Chronicles 2 did at launch, sales were more than double the original on Wii.

New sales data is in from the UK for the month of April 2020.

During the month, over one million games were sold across all platforms, with Nintendo taking home a 21.5 percent share of all boxed titles sold. This was the most successful April for physical game sales since 2015. While down 13 percent from March, that was merely due to Animal Crossing: New Horizons moving on from its launch month.

All consoles – including Switch – have sold more units during the first four months of 2020 than they did during the same period in 2019. In total, 210,000 games consoles were sold during April. Between March and April, half a million game consoles have been sold in the UK for a 48 percent increase year-over-year.
