Shaq-Fu: A Legend Reborn

Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn

We haven’t heard much about Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn in recent months, but the game may finally be coming soon. It was rated not too long ago by the USK, and a listing has now popped up on Amazon UK. Yes, this is apparently getting a physical release on Switch.

It could be a tentative date, but Amazon UK believes Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn will be launching on April 3 – at least physically. The retailer also provides the following details:

Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn finally has a release window, with Saber Interactive announcing today that the game is launching this fall. Better yet, Switch owners have an opportunity to pick up a free copy if they purchase NBA Playgrounds.

Saber Interactive is putting the newly-announced offer in place as a way of showing its appreciation to the community. Anyone who buys NBA Playgrounds on Switch before the game’s online patch drops will be entitled to Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn at no extra cost. This promotion will only be available on Nintendo’s platform.

Saber CEO Matthew Karch said in a statement:

Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn

Shaq-Fu: A Legend Reborn is in development for Switch. That’s according to Saber Interactive CEO Matthew Karch, who revealed this information to Nintendo Everything in a recent interview.

Shaq-Fu: A Legend Reborn was originally funded on Indiegogo in 2014. At the time, it seemed like a Wii U version had been secured. We’re unsure if Shaq-Fu: A Legend Reborn is still planned for Wii U, but now that Switch has arrived, it wouldn’t be surprising to hear about its cancellation.

Shaq-Fu: A Legend Reborn has been successfully funded on Indiegogo. With about eight hours remaining, the campaign crossed its $450,000 target.

Big Deez Productions will be bringing Shaq-Fu: A Legend Reborn to Wii U at some point in the future. The game was originally planned for 3DS as well, though plans for that version may have since been scrapped.

Update: It’s official: if Shaq Fu hits its goal, the game will head to consoles, including Wii U. 3DS support appears to have been dropped.

Original:

Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn could end up receiving full console support for its Indiegogo campaign.

If this is something the team pursues, the game would head to Wii U, 3DS, and other platforms assuming the main goal is met. This would mean that no additional funds/stretch goals would be involved.
