Telltale Games

A new trailer has been released for Batman: The Telltale Series, which comes to Switch next week. Have a look at it below.

Previously, we reported that Amazon tentatively listed Batman: The Telltale Series for November 14 on the Switch. In a tweet today, Telltale Games has confirmed November 14 as the North American release date. The game will launch November 17 in Europe and Australia.

Telltale published Minecraft: Story Mode – The Complete Adventure on Switch awhile back. The company has also confirmed more Minecraft as well as Batman and Guardians of the Galaxy for the console. That sounds like just the start of Telltale’s Switch plans.

Speaking with MCV, Telltale head of creative communications Job Stauffer said that the studio is “really happy” with The Complete Adventure on Switch and he and the rest of the team “expect to see more of our games heading to Switch very soon, too.”

Stauffer added:

Before Telltale Games confirmed its new releases for Switch, one of the rumors swirling around was about Batman: The Telltale Series. A number of retailers were listing Batman: The Enemy Within, which is the second season Telltale started just recently.

An Amazon listing offers clarity about what’s going on here. Rather than The Enemy Within, Switch will be getting all five episodes from the first season instead. That does make sense, since it’d be a bit odd to start off with the second season without having the context from prior episodes.

After previously hitting Wii U, Minecraft: Story Mode – The Complete Adventure landed on Switch this week. You can watch a bunch of footage below.

Batman: The Enemy Within

The teases, rumors, and retailer listings are finished. Finally, new titles from Telltale Games have been confirmed for Switch.

Nintendo put out a tweet officially announcing that Guardians of the Galaxy and Batman: The Enemy Within will be making their way to Switch:

No word yet on release dates, but both are very likely candidates to drop before the end of 2017.

Telltale Games has been hinting at and teasing more games for Switch. On top of that, retailers have been listing some of the company’s products for Nintendo platforms. Things are heating up even further now.

In an interview with Rocket Beans TV, Telltale’s Job Stauffer suggested that Guardians of the Galaxy, Batman, and Minecraft: Story Mode – Season Two are all coming to Switch. He said:

“Minecraft, the first game, came out today. I think you can expect to see other titles like Batman, Guardians of the Galaxy, maybe Minecraft Season 2 in the future.”

You can listen to the relevant part of the interview below.

Thanks to Eduardo S for the tip.

Telltale Games finally put out its first Switch release today, Minecraft: Story Mode – The Complete Adventure. This won’t be the only title from the company though.

During a Reddit AMA, Telltale mentioned that the team should have news regarding other Switch titles “very soon.” Further teased, “We’ll have titles on the eShop sooner than you might think…!”

While Retailers have started to list Batman: The Enemy Within for Switch, Telltale has yet to confirm that it’s happening. We do think it’s happening though, and there should be more to come from Telltale.

Batman: The Enemy Within

All sorts of retailers have been suggesting that Batman: The Enemy Within is coming to Switch. What we considered to be a very good sign is when GameFly listed the game. The retailer tends to be spot on more often than not.

If you didn’t trust GameFly’s listing though, even more evidence has popped up. Amazon and GameStop both say that Batman: The Enemy Within is heading to Switch as well.

At this point, we’d be extremely surprised if this wasn’t happening. It may just take Telltale Games awhile to make it official. Even though we pretty much knew about Minecraft: Story Mode – The Complete Adventure on Switch, the announcement took a significantly long time to appear.

Telltale Games has been speaking pretty positively about the Switch, and there have been several rumors and retailer listings suggesting that their games might be coming to the system (other than Minecraft: Story Mode). Now, a job listing has popped up which suggests that Telltale is intending to continue their Switch support. They’re looking for a “Nintendo Compliance Specialist” – essentially someone who will be responsible for ensuring that Telltale’s games will meet the technical standards of the Switch and also assist with other publishing & quality assurance issues. You can check out the full job listing here, if you’re interested.

Of course we will have to see what happens, but it certainly seems like Telltale Games are committed to supporting the Switch long-term if they’re specifically hiring someone for a position like this.
