Wanted to highlight these three Virtual Console games’ North American release dates, which comes from the Wii U infographic we just posted:

– Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones – June 18
– Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time – June 25
– Star Fox Command – June 25

While North America and Europe just got EarthBound Beginnings on the Wii U Virtual Console this past week, Japan has had access to the title for 25 years. You might be interested to hear that a couple of changes were made from the original game.

Players have noticed two modifications. The crow, which was smoking a cigarette in the Famicom release, had ditched it in the Wii U version. A reference to Dragon Quest IV has also been removed, though this was not present in the GBA release either.

Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones could be seeing a release on the North American Wii U Virtual Console very soon. It’s been classified by the ESRB, which usually suggests an imminent launch. I’d bet that we’ll be seeing it tomorrow in fact given how past ratings have turned out!

Three new titles are hitting the Japanese Wii U eShop next week. Square’s classic RPG for the SNES, Live A Live, is due out on June 24. The MSX game Circus Charlie (from Konami) and the PC Engine release Image Fight are also releasing on the same day.

Another round of footage has come in for EarthBound Beginnings. You can watch the latest video below.

Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town landed on the North American Wii U Virtual Console last week. Below, we’ve attached some extensive footage from the classic GBA title.

Now that EarthBound Beginnings has hit the Wii U Virtual Console, footage is starting to hit YouTube. You can watch 20 minutes from the game below.

Double Dragon III: The Sacred Stones has been classified over in Australia. Nintendo is listed as publisher, so this rating should be for an upcoming Virtual Console release.

Arc System Works announced a couple of days ago that the company acquired the rights to Double Dragon and other franchises. Perhaps they’ll handle Double Dragon III’s eventual Virtual Console version?
