Red Barrels conducted a Reddit AMA this week all about Outlast on Switch. Philippe Morin, co-founder and senior game designer, as well as senior programmer Mathieu Gauthier participated.

Between the two, they spoke about how the games have been selling on Switch, porting them to the console, why they run at 30 frames per second rather than 60, and more. We’ve rounded up some of the more noteworthy comments below.

Outlast - Nintendo Switch

The popular survival psychological game Outlast recently landed on Switch. Its sequel, Outlast 2, also arrives later this month.

Bringing both of these titles to Switch looks to have gone very well for developer Red Barrels. On his LinkedIn profile, programmer Mathieu Gauthier indicates that Outlast 1 and 2 were ported “from scratch” in just “a matter of weeks”.

The horror franchise Outlast is on its way to Switch, Red Barrels has announced. The two games are set for release sometime in Q1 2018.

Today’s news comes as part of a larger status update from Red Barrels. The company has ruled out DLC for Outlast 2, and has teased something else in development in the Outlast franchise.
