Dragon Quest 1 & 2 HD-2D Remake won’t have upgrade path for Switch to Switch 2 version

Dragon Quest 1 & 2 HD-2D Remake is set to Switch and Switch 2 on October 30, 2025, and Square Enix has provided more information about the compatibility between both versions.
In an FAQ section for the game’s official site, Square Enix shares that there is no upgrade path for Nintendo Switch 2 users, and that save data is not transferrable between the two versions. We have the quote from the site here:

Koei Tecmo today announced the Atelier Ryza Secret Deluxe Pack, a bundle of all three Atelier Ryza Secret games. The compilation is set to release on both Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch later this year.
Aside from an official Nintendo Switch 2 release, this bundle also comes with additional exclusive content. This includes new playable characters, and new story elements for each of the three games.

Corpse Party Tetralogy Pack announced for Nintendo Switch

May 23: Developer Mages has announced the Corpse Party Tetralogy Pack for Nintendo Switch, a collection consisting of four games from their Corpse Party series. The compilation is set to release physically in Japan alongside a collectors edition on August 7, 2025.
The games included are Corpse Party (2021), Corpse Party: Blood Drive, Corpse Party: Book of Shadows, and Corpse Party: Sweet Sachiko’s Hysteric Birthday Bash. This will also mark the latter two game’s first appearance on the Nintendo Switch.

Evil Empire and Ubisoft have not yet announced whether The Rogue Prince of Persia will be making its way to Nintendo Switch. The game has been making preparations to launch on Steam, but amidst this there is evidence to suggest the game’s arrival on Nintendo’s console.
An Australian classification of The Rogue Prince of Persia have surfaced not only for PC, but on Nintendo Switch as well. This doesn’t necessarily guarantee the game’s arrival on the system, but it does open the door for possibility. We are also still awaiting clarification for if the Sands of Time Remake will be heading its way over to Nintendo Switch, so this is just adding more sand on the pile.
