Nintendo created a single-driver version of Mario Kart: Double Dash in case two-driver mechanic didn’t work out

Shmupulations recently released a translated 2003 Nintendo Dream interview with the lead developers of Mario Kart: Double Dash. Producers Tadashi Sugiyama and Shinya Takahashi, as well as chief director, Kiyoshi Mizuki, all discuss the development of Double Dash as well as their concern over the two-driver mechanic.
Sugiyama suggested that the staff wasn’t very confident in the feature, as to not harm what made Mario Kart unique. The team was even simultaneously developing a single-driver version in the early stages, in case two drivers didn’t go over well. After they gained confidence, they discuss that most of the games’ development time was placed into tinkering with the two-driver mechanic.

Announced in 2024 with a planned for a 2025 release, Hashire Hebereke: EX is now set for a Spring 2026 launch window.
Hashire Hebereke: EX is a remake of Hashire Hebereke, a racing game featuring various characters and tracks. The original 1994 game was released on the Super Famicom in Japan only. It was developed by Sunsoft and its remake is being published by Gravity Games Arise. The remake includes new characters, stages, four person online multiplayer, and a new time attack mode.

NetherWorld physical release detailed, pre-orders open

SelectaPlay has announced that the NetherWorld special physical boxed edition up for pre-orders. The physical edition includes a full-color ‘NetherWorld for Dummies’ manual.
NetherWorld is a side scrolling action adventure narrative experience developed by Hungry Pixel, and published by SelectaPlay. The game was funded on Kickstarter with Fans helping raise €10,000 – double the goal.

Cartagra: The Sickness of Possessory was announced for Nintendo Switch in the latest issue of Famitsu. The game will support English, Japanese, and Chinese language options.
Cartagra: The Sickness of Possessory is a visual novel developed and published by Innocent Grey, and released in 2005 on the PS2 and PC. The game was remade and released in 2023 in Japan, with Prototype now bringing it to Nintendo Switch.

In celebration of 100k wishlists, Yasha: Legends of the Demon Blade has been announced to receive a physical deluxe edition of the game in North America and Europe.
Yasha: Legends of the Demon Blade is a highly anticipated action RPG roguelite set in Edo Japan. Players will be able to choose among three protagonists with three distinct combat styles and storylines.
The physical deluxe edition is to include a deluxe box with physical copy of the game, postcards, the official OST on digital as well as singles, an artbook, and a poster.
