Rumor: Wii U CPU comparable to PS3/360, GPU stronger

Even though E3 2012 has passed by, specific Wii U specs have not been made available. That means the power speculation surrounding the console can continue.
Rumor has it that the Wii U’s CPU is similar to that of the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, though its GPU is supposedly 1.5 times stronger or so. Insidegamer claims to have received this knowledge from a Ubisoft staffer.
Assassin’s Creed III on Wii U is apparently looking worse than its PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 counterparts due to fewer details and a lower frame rate. However, Ubisoft says any issues should be ironed out before launch as they become more familiar with the hardware.

A look at Mad Catz’s Wii U FPSPro controller

Above is Mad Catz’s take on the Wii U Pro controller, known as the “FPSPro”. It features offset analog sticks and a couple of middle finger-accessible tap buttons.
Surprisingly, Mad Catz wasn’t aware that the Wii U Pro controller would be announced. Although Mad Catz approached the Big N with the idea, Nintendo had said that it would be focusing on the classic contorller.
