Capcom TGS 2024

Ahead of Tokyo Game Show 2024, Capcom announced its lineup for the show. The company will have several titles on display and more.

As far as upcoming Switch games that are playable, Capcom will be showing off Ace Attorney Investigations Collection and Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics. Other titles at the booth include Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, Monster Hunter Now, Monster Hunter Wilds, and Street Fighter 6.

Fallen Tear: The Ascension

CMD Studios and Winter Crew have announced that their upcoming game Fallen Tear: The Ascension is planned for Switch. It does not have a release window at this time.

Fallen Tear: The Ascension is a hand-crafted 2D open-world Metroidvania game. Players will explore, form bonds with new friends, make choices, and fight to save a magical world on the brink of destruction by the gods.

Ace Attorney Investigations Collection demo

For those looking to experience a bit of Ace Attorney Investigations Collection before the launch, Capcom just released a demo.

The opening portions of both games, Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth and Ace Attorney Investigations 2: Prosecutor’s Gambit, are included. Also, data can be transferred to the full version at release.

koROBO consoles

koROBO, the new game from former developers at Skip, has now been officially confirmed for consoles.

For those that missed the news previously, koROBO has been on Kickstarter / Campfire for the past few weeks. The project already reached its funding target, and with less than a day remaining, hit its console stretch goal as well. The team hasn’t said which consoles it’ll be supporting, but given how koROBO is a Chibi-Robo spiritual successor, we should count on Nintendo support.

The Punisher Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection Arcade Classics

The fourth game-specific trailer for Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics was just released, this time for The Punisher. In the beat ’em up title, players take revenge on the gangsters who murdered your innocent family.

Shogun Showdown

A Switch version of Shogun Showdown is coming very soon, Goblinz Publishing and developer Roboatino have announced. You’ll be able to grab it on September 5, 2024.

Shogun Showdown, a turn-based combat game with rogue-like and deck-building elements, takes inspiration from hit games like Into the Breach, Darkest Dungeon, Crypt of the Necrodancer, and Slay the Spire. After a little more than a year in Early Access, the full release is launching and on multiple platforms.

Palia Sunset Soirée update

The next major update for Palia, known as “Sunset Soirée”, is coming in just a few days. This is also known as version 0.183.

The update comes with a number of highlights. Players can look forward to increased building blocks and flower limits, Lily Rattan furniture, Chapaa huntable plushes, potato pods, searchable inventory, and a new Pet at the Premium Shop. Full patch notes should follow next week.

Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Rupee Bulletin Board

During a talk at the Computer Entertainment Development Conference (CEDEC), Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom director Hidemaro Fujibayashi and and engineer Kenichi Hirose gave a peak behind the curtain. It was revealed that during development of the game, Nintendo created a Rupee Bulletin Board which facilitated communication and development.

As reported by Games Watch and passed along by Automaton, Hirose brought up how the basic production flow of the project was as follows: Drawing Board > Implementation > Playtest after reaching a milestone > Data collection > Analysis. The team would go through this repeated cycle following the last step’s completion.

Kill Knight release date

Kill Knight, the upcoming arcade-inspired isometric action shooter, now has a release date. Announced today is that the title is scheduled for October 3, 2024.

Our initial report on Kill Knight was in April. Today is the first time we’ve been given any sort of news about launch timing.
