According to Famitsu, New Super Mario Bros. Wii has sold more than three million copies in Japan and is now one of three Wii games to reach platinum status, joining Wii Sports and Wii Fit. Famitsu’s information is based on data taken from Enterbrain, who has put the title at 3,002,753 units sold since its release. New Super Mario Bros. Wii launched in Japan on December 3 and it has only taken seven weeks for the game to exceed three million units sold. That’s a new record for a Wii game. Quite an amazing accomplishment, don’t you think?
