Nintendo’s E3 2016 lanyard featured Zelda. This year, unsurprisingly, Super Mario Odyssey gets the focus.
One side of the lanyard is dedicated to the upcoming game. On the other side are the general Nintendo and Switch logos. You can get at the full lanyard above.

Miyamoto seen heading to the E3 convention center

It may not come as huge surprise, but Shigeru Miyamoto will be in attendance at E3 2017. TheExpGrind spotted Miyamoto heading to the LA Convention Center and filmed a brief video.

You can definitely count on Miyamoto showing off Super Mario Odyssey. He was around for a part of the Treehouse stream last year for Zelda: Breath of the Wild, so you’ll likely see him making an appearance during this year’s feed as well.

Hero Mode has been “expanded considerably” in Splatoon 2, dev says

One of the surprising standout elements of the original Splatoon was Hero Mode, the game’s single-player campaign. For Splatoon 2, Nintendo is bringing it back and expanding it further.
Director Yusuke Amano spoke about the upgraded Hero Mode in this month’s issue of GamesTM. Pretty much all aspects have been “expanded considerably,” according to the developer.

Eurogamer caught up with FIFA 18’s Switch producer Andrei Lazaresco yesterday. The discussion was extremely interesting, with Lazaresco commenting on the technology behind the game, why certain modes are missing, confirmed that it runs at 60 frames per second, and much more.

Need for Speed: Payback producer a big fan of Switch, but no current plans for the system

Need for Speed: Payback executive producer Marcus Nilsson is a big fan of Switch. When he’s traveling on flights, he plays Zelda: Breath of the Wild. But when it comes to actually supporting the system, his new game is unlikely to end up on the system.
GameSpot asked Nilsson about the possibility of a Switch version of Need for Speed: Payback at E3 2017. In response, he said:
“I love the Switch; I absolutely adore it. Would that be a platform that Need for Speed: Payback could run on? I don’t see why [not], but it’s not something we’re looking to at this very moment.”

Dragon Quest XI is roughly 50 hours long, 100 hours to complete everything

Square Enix held a “mini-stage” at the Dragon Quest XI “Countdown Carnival” in Fukuoka today. During the event, director Takeshi Uchikawa mentioned that the game will take roughly 50 hours to complete. Those who intend to experience everything the game has to offer incluing all of the side elements can expect 100 hours, according to Uchikawa.
