Super Smash Bros. Melee was announced as the final game for the 2013 Evo Tournament back in February. Unfortunately, the game is now being removed from the stream schedule.

Event organizers needed permission from Nintendo of America in order to broadcast Melee for Evo 2013. For whatever reason(s), it wasn’t granted. The game will now be replaced by Persona 4 Arena and King of Fighters XIII.

NetherRealm Studios will be announcing new downloadable content for Injustice: Gods Among Us at the Evo Championship Series. This will include a much-requested skin, according to creative director Ed Boon.

Boon tweeted earlier today:

EVO 2013 will be taking place between July 12 and July 14.

Warner Bros. Interactive has confirmed the official Scribblenauts Unmasked: A DC Comics Adventure release date. The game will be out on September 24 for the Wii U, 3DS, and PC.

Nintendo has opened an official page for its Fire Emblem: Awakening/Shin Megami Tensei IV eShop promotion, revealing new details about how the whole thing works.

Those who register copies of both games on Club Nintendo will receive $30 in credit on the digital store. You’ll need to complete the registration surveys by August 31 in order to quality.

Credit can be redeemed on either the 3DS eShop or Wii U eShop. This also seems to apply to digital and retail copies, so those who purchased and registered Fire Emblem previously will likely quality for the offer.

Nintendo and Atlus haven’t shared much about its Shin Megami Tensei and Fire Emblem crossover title for Wii U. A teaser trailer was shown during the January Nintendo Direct, but that’s all, and the game hasn’t been seen since.

Nintendo’s Hitoshi Yamagami did reconfirm one nugget about Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem while speaking with Hobby Consolas. According to Yamagami, the game will take place in a modern world.

He said:

“For a long time, I wanted to create a FE on ours times, on the real world. Imagine a Pegasus that comes from the sky and lands on the Building 109 of Shibuya, Tokyo. I always though that would be incredible. At the same time, I know it’s hard because of how FE is. I visited many companies to express these ideas. When I went to Atlus, I was told that Shin Megami Tensei together with Fire Emblem is what I wanted. So, I soon said that to Intelligent Systems and started this very special collaboration. Oops! I shouldn’t say that the game takes place in the real world. We haven’t announced it, right?”
