A few stores will be hosting midnight launches for the Wii U next month (yes, it really is just a month away!). That includes Walmart, which is confirmed by a new internal sheet from the retailer. You should be able to grab the console at 12:00 AM as long as you have a pre-order.

The same sheet also points out that Wii U stock should arrive well before the Wii U’s launch in most cases. This is something that you’d expect, but outlets could begin to receive systems as early as November 14, and no later than November 16. Sorry though – that doesn’t mean you can get the Wii U early!

NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros. have been strangely quiet when it comes to the Wii U version of Injustice: Gods Among Us. Despite the silence, there’s no reason to be concerned.

Just like the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 editions, the Wii U version is being handled in-house – at NetherRealm – and should be ready to go in April.

There will be lots of GamePad usage, but there won’t be any major additions/changes compared to the other versions.

NetherRealm producer Hector Sanchez told Joystiq:

“We plan on Wii U to come out at the same time as Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions, so we don’t have as much of an enhancement.”

To sum up: the Wii U version isn’t being handled by another studio. It’s coming out on time for the regular launch. And it’ll be just like the PlayStation 3/Xbox 360 game.

You won’t have to worry about the Wii U Pro Controller’s battery. A single charge will last over three days, according to a GameStop listing.

The retailer says that the controller includes “a rechargeable battery that can last up to 80 hours on a single charge.”

Now I’m curious to see how long the GamePad battery goes for. I can’t imagine that lasting 80 hours as well…

Thanks to Jake for the tip.

Will Castle of Illusion ever head to the Virtual Console? Will there ever be a new Ducktales game? Epic Mickey 2 director Warren Spector won’t say one way or another.

When asked about the possibility of both, Spector responded with “no comment”.

SEGA would have to be involved in a re-release of Castle of Illusion. Mickey is a Disney IP of course, but the original game was made and published by SEGA.

Regarding Ducktales, Spector has said many, many times before that he’d love to revisit the franchise. Such a project would be up to Disney though.
