Capcom pushing for improved story modes in future fighting games
Posted on 12 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News | 0 comments
Fighting games aren’t exactly known for their single-player content. But in the future, we may see a stronger push in this area from Capcom.
Capcom USA’s senior VP Christian Svensson recently wrote on the company’s official forums that its “strategic marketing group here has for quite a while been pushing for our fighting franchises to have more and better single player content, of which full fledged story modes are one component.” Svensson didn’t elaborate on any specifics, unfortunately.
“The strategic marketing group here has for quite a while been pushing for our fighting franchises to have more and better single player content, of which full fledged story modes are one component.
How and when those requirements manifest in our future roadmap, I’m not prepared to speak about at this time.”

OFLC rates “Tekken Revolution”
Posted on 12 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News | 0 comments
A mysterious title was rated by the OFLC today. The Australian classification board has added in an entry for something called “Tekken Revolution”, a multi-platform release.
As far as we know, Namco Bandai hasn’t announced any such project. The OFLC does categorize the title under the “Computer Games” category and gave it an “M” rating – targeted for players 15 years and over.
Tekken Revolution’s OFLC rating comes hot on the heels of Namco Bandai’s “Tekken Arena” trademark filing in Europe. Could the two be related?
Thanks to Xolo for the tip.

UK retailer lists “Animal Crossing Limited Edition” 3DS bundle
Posted on 12 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News | 0 comments
Nintendo Everything reader Cameron Thomas has brought an interesting retailer finding to our attention. UK outlet ShopTo is listing the “Animal Crossing Limited Edition Console Bundle 3DS” on its website with a release date of June 14 – the same day Animal Crossing: New Leaf launches in Europe.
ShopTo mentions that Animal Crossing is pre-installed on the system. A small box shot of the Japanese 3DS Animal Crossing bundle is included on the product page, too.
Could Nintendo be gearing up for a western Animal Crossing 3DS bundle announcement? One would assume that it’s the same product that Japan received last year. Perhaps we’ll hear something during this week’s Nintendo Direct…

Alex Ward says he isn’t working on Burnout, Need for Speed, Road Rash, or Black sequel
Posted on 12 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News | 0 comments
There have already been a lot of rumors as to what Criterion Games is working on. Just recently, we heard that the studio could be working on Need for Speed: Underground before creative director Alex Ward debunked the speculation.
Criterion isn’t working on any Need for Speed game, apparently. The company isn’t making a new Burnout, Road Rash, or Black sequel either. That’s account to Ward, who once again took to Twitter and cleared up a few things for fans:
