PES 2014 doesn’t appear to be heading to Wii U. But perhaps even more surprisingly, it’s not planned for the 3DS as well.

The 3DS received three PES releases in the past. You might be wondering then: why did Konami cease its support of the handheld?

While we don’t have an entirely definitive answer, PES European community manager Adam Bhatti said on Twitter that PES 2013 didn’t sell. He said: “No one bought it.”

As far as we know, Konami has no games lined up for Nintendo platforms – at least in overseas territories.

PES 2014 seemed like the one sure-fire title destined for a Nintendo system, but that isn’t the case. Konami made the game official today, and even though last year’s edition launched on both the 3DS and Wii, the company’s latest soccer release doesn’t look to be coming to either platform. No Wii U version is planned, by the way.

Konami still hasn’t put out a single Wii U title, and system owners will be missing out on all soccer action – EA confirmed previously that it won’t be bringing FIFA 14 to the Wii U.

What might be even more surprising is that Konami appears to be ending PES support on the 3DS.

Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Games isn’t just heading to Wii U, apparently.

Although the new Mario & Sonic was only announced for Wii U during the most-recent Nintendo Direct, there’s also a version in development for the 3DS.

IGN’s Rich George just wrote on Twitter that he received word from SEGA about the 3DS title:

Nintendo nor SEGA have mentioned Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Games for the 3DS in any of its PR, but I guess it’s coming anyway. For what it’s worth, all previous Mario & Sonic games have launched on Nintendo consoles/handhelds.

Japanese Monster Hunter fans will be able to grab the Monster Hunter 4 Limited Edition in September.

Capcom is preparing a special set featuring a copy of the game, swordsman figure, 2-way 3DS case made of “Goa Magara skin”, and a strap.

A few details on the figure: it’s made by Sen-ti-nel co, is composed of PVC, and stands about 190 mm tall. The Hunter Figure holds a Fire Dragon Sword as well as a Fire Dragon Hammer. Changeable hands, a stand, and texture sheets are also included.
