Adaptendo: Donkey Kong and Donkey Kong Jr.
Posted on 14 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Features | 4 Comments
There are a lot of really strange adaptations of videos games out there. We all know how weird the Super Mario Bros. movie is and how much the Zelda cartoon deviated from its source material, but I wanted to take a look at some of the more obscure adaptations of Nintendo games there are out there. I figured I should start by looking at what was probably the first example of a Nintendo title being turned into some other form of media, so let’s take a look back at the Donkey Kong and Donkey Kong Jr. cartoons that aired as part of CBS’s Saturday Supercade block from 1983 to 1985.
5 future Wii games to keep your eye on

Hey folks – Just a quick note from Valay. Wanted to take a second to introduce you to Peter, who is the author of this feature. He’s a new editor on the site, and will be taking over Elliot’s role. So expect to see a number of features/reviews from his in the future!
Yesterday I went through the list of games I want to buy from now until the end of the year. It astounded me to find out that all but two are Wii games. It’s true, there are five games coming out from now until the end of the year that are highly interesting titles. This would mark the largest growth of my collection since I bought the Wii in which I bought two games at the same time. Most of you can probably figure out what these five games are going to be, but for those who don’t? I’m more than happy to talk about them.

The second episode of our podcast features a few new voices and a few missing ones, lots of game talk, some more (possibly slightly less than genuine) listener mail, and a good bit of laughs in between. We’re still working on catching our stride, so bear with us as things can get a little hectic from now until then!

With less than two months until it releases in Japan, we’re currently being flooded with new information about the two upcoming Pokémon games: Black and White. I figured that with so much information out there, it’s time to sort through the magazine scans, Pokémon Sunday clips and leaked information to deliver all the essential facts on these new Pokémon games. And also speculate a bit.
Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies review
Posted on 14 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in DS, Reviews | 6 Comments
Game Info:
System: Nintendo DS
Category: RPG
Players: 1-4
Release date: July 11, 2010
Developer: Level-5/Square Enix
Publisher: Nintendo
Dragon Quest has always been a huge hit in Japan, but has never quite managed to capture the same attention elsewhere. It seems more likely, in comparison to past DQ games that the release of Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies will lead to greater worldwide success. Never before has a primary Dragon Quest game been released on a handheld – in fact, it is designed for the best-selling portable video game console of all time. Moreover, the title features a mix of classic role-playing gameplay as well as a few new additions and modifications that make this particular title a worthy addition to the series.
