Rumor: Rocksteady making Silver Age-based Batman game
Posted on 12 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, Rumors | 0 comments
Rocksteady Studios is rumored to be working on a third Batman project based on the Silver Age of DC’s 1950s comic books. The game would serve as a sequel to Arkham Asylum and Arkham City, Variety reports.
Silver Age’s comics saw Batman teaming up with other renowned heroes including Superman. The Justice League of America was formed as well.
Don’t get too hyped yet, as the title wouldn’t be released until “2014 at the earliest.”

Poking around the Japanese message boards, I noticed something very peculiar. Project Sora’s website has been updated with a very odd notice.
It seems that the studio, formed by Smash Bros. creator Masahiro Sakurai, has been dissolved as of June 30. The site will no longer be accessible on July 31.
You can take a look at the Japanese notice for yourself right here.
Capcom has unannounced games coming to Nintendo’s digital platforms
Posted on 12 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News | 0 comments
Marvel vs. Capcom Origins is the latest digital Capcom title that won’t be released for a Nintendo platform.
Christian Svensson, explaining the decision, said that the move wasn’t done out of spite. He noted that the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 have seen the most active digital consumers this generation, leading to a lack of support on Nintendo systems. It’s also worth mentioning that Capcom closed its deal with Marvel over a year ago.
Nintendo fans should look toward the future. Svensson promised that there are a few unannounced projects in the works that will be making their way to the big N’s digital platforms. It’s currently unknown if he was referring to the Wii U, 3DS, or both.
Svensson said:
“It’s not some sort of spite thing. It’s just that on current generation consoles, the most sizable base of active digital consumers has been on the X360 and PS3. Bear in mind, this game was green lit more than a year ago when I did the deal with Marvel. Don’t worry though, on some future unannounced Capcom projects, Nintendo platforms will get digital love from us.”
Cuthbert discusses Star Fox story, would love to work on the series again, more

Dylan Cuthbert, one of Star Fox’s biggest influences, recently discussed how the original game’s story came to be. Naturally Shigeru Miyamoto played a huge part in how the plot came into existence.
Cuthbert said:
“I remember many years ago when I presented an idea for a game with elaborate concept art and a strong storyline to Miyamoto-san at Nintendo and he quickly rushed through the document and then said ‘ok, and where’s the game?’. He then went onto a bit of a rant about how games should be made from a core concept and only vaguest of story concepts, and then once you find the core of the game you start layering on the story and the world, and he used Zelda as an example of this. Thinking back to StarFox too and it was similar; we developed the game without any sign of intrepid furry space explorers for the first 70% or so, and then suddenly POW!, ‘let’s put a fox in the concept and make it a saga about his missing dad and the fight against Andross’ and it sewed the game up nicely.”

This isn’t something to be taken too seriously, especially given that it’s a parody. Enjoy it for what it is!

Capcom: Western Monster Hunter news coming this calender year
Posted on 12 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News | 0 comments
Can it be? Specific Monster Hunter news for the west? Kind of!
Capcom’s Christian Svensson said on the company’s official message boards today that there will be news for overseas Monster Hunter before year’s end. His specific quote states that there will be “some sort of information before the end of this calendar year.”
According to Svensson:
“Ok, part one, I’m not aware of anyone from Capcom saying ‘wait for comic-con’. Perhaps fan speculation. I will be more clear than I have ever been… Western MH fans should have some sort of information before the end of this calendar year. I can’t say more than that unfortuntaely though I would love to.”
This is definitely the clearest Svensson has been regarding Western Monster Hunter updates. Let’s just hope that this “information” will result in an overseas announcement of Tri G and/or MH4.
Thanks to CdS for the tip.
